Yea, that was very unfortunate. The attackers were rednecks. They are a different breed. Mostly inbred.

That has nothing to do with this story and the RTP tho.

True, but it has a whole bunch to do with your mindset when you wrote:

"That's a weak argument. If you are a black male, 200 pounds, wearing jeans and a white tee-shirt and are running from the scene of a crime there is an incredibly strong chance you are who the authorities are looking for".

Except that there were no authorities involved and no crime committed. Just a truck full of rednecks doing the wrong thing. My point had to do with proper and descriptive information regarding the description of someone who committed a crime.

Keep digging!

the order is after “requests” made by unidentified countries’ ambassadors who felt reports of their citizens allegedly committing crimes hurt what they called the positive image of their respective countries

Yes, the positive image being tarnished, Thailand can sympathize. :giggle:

It's almost as though the authorities don't want the criminal scum to be caught when the most obvious means of identifying them is taken away. Here, it's mentioning nationality, in the west it's ethnicity. Seems the only ones who don't have rights these days are the law-abiding.

Now we will have to wait until they are convicted, before we can slag off various nationalities, although not law, so example; if someone is found fast asleep & drunk on the footpath and the cops help him home, = no conviction, we will just have to speculate and take wild guesses as per the norm, what fun. :cheesy::cheesy::unsure:

Any guesses as to which countries are not happy when their citizens are reported as suspects in crimes 555.

I suspect you are correct. Complaints from other countries have so far generated little concern.

Just like in the US when a crime was reported they can no longer use the color of the criminal's skin in their news report.

Now..... "he's wearing blue jeans and a white tee-shirt"

Before... a black male 6'2" approx 200 pounds wearing blue jeans and a white tee-shirt.

Which announcement would make the person easier to identify?

You mean " blue jeans pulled down below his butt"

If it makes it more likely to catch a criminal, I don't see that it would cause any prejudice.

Male, Caucasian, approx 200lbs, wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt would be more effective than just male blue jeans and t-shirt. In fact it could prevent wrongful arrest.

Far better to give as much information as possible to catch an offender.

Then someone will call out it's " profiling " so I guess those same people don't care if another crime is committed by the exact same person.

Resisting the urge to judge the Asian concept of saving face as an archaic, emotionally immature impedence to truth and justice becomes more challenging by the day

I see that your mind is nicely open to different cultural traits and customs whilst resisting the urge to be judgmental.

BS everything in the Us is divided in to categories of race, sexual orientation, political party affiliation, etc. etc. etc.

Don't disagree with him too much or he will announce you are on his " ignore list" It's a very mature action some habi's do on this forum.
