Simple solution ban the Chinese from every country on the planet, obviously except their own dog hole. Who needs them anyway

  • Congratulations Thailand! Just when you think those in charge couldn't get anymore stupid, they pull something like this.   So, let me get this straight. China ends its restrictions and open

  • Reap what you sow! Anutin & Thailand! Next up we'll see TAT announcing "tourist arrivals lower than expected" in 2023 due to new covid restrictions. Why surprised at this <deleted> show?

  • In order to not upset China they are going to lose the rest of their visitors. Putting all their eggs in one basket again. Can they really be that stupid? Rhetorical question ????

So, let me get this straight. China ends its restrictions and opens its doors for outward travel and Thailand gets scared but they don't want to offend their big brother so instead of banning Chinese travellers from entering, they ban all unvaccinated international travellers instead. Even though the Chinese are all vaccinated and none of the vaccines do anything to stop transmission. The two shot requirement concerns outdated inoculations that didn't even work and weren't even tested for transmission reduction for the variant they were designed for which isn't even around anymore. They put a 6 month cap on the most effective protection which is natural Immunity but no cap on these ineffective and outdated shots. These new entry requirements get reported all over the world and immediately reap havoc on the recently revived tourism industry with thousands of travellers cancelling their bookings for flights and hotels. Airlines cancel planes, total chaos ensues. Those in charge realise their collosal mistake and attempt to backpedal to minimize damage. But once again, it's too late and enormous damage has already been done. If only those in charge would've stopped and reflected over the consequences for one minute before doing something insane like this.

So true. The tourist that have to cancel their trip now last minute wont probably come to Thailand anymore ever.

You have stupid and you have stupid. But what I'm experiencing here in Thailand is on a level I've never seen before. What futures of hard-working people are being destroyed here by coconuts from extremely wealthy families who have no empathy for their fellow human beings who have to work hard.

China is having the mother of all covid outbreaks because they only relied on Chinese vaccines like Sinovac, this though is enough for entry into Thailand.
Airlines will now have to quickly roll back to COVID measures including mandatory masks on flights.
Anutin is not competent to be in charge of any of this.

Why doesn't Prayut fire this clown, Anutin?

“Non-Thai passengers arriving from countries which refuse entry to infected people must have taken out COVID insurance, valid throughout their stay in Thailand plus seven days, before their departure for Thailand.”

What exactly do they mean by this? The wife and I are going to Thailand on 8th March and will return to the UK on 5th April. Does our insurance now have to be valid until the 12th April?

You are asking the wrong question. It is fairly obvious that insurance would need to be valid from 1st March, 7 days before departure forThailand.

The real question mark hangs over this part "arriving from countries which refuse entry to infected people"

I don’t think the airline industry bosses are going to be happy about being dictated to by a third world country that is run by idiots.

Remind us, what did the airline industry bosses say when the UK government gave holiday makers less than 48 hours to get home before being quarantined.

The man who put this in motion is groomed to become Thailand's next Prime Minister...

BA no longer fly to Thailand at the moment,

Obviously the word "direct" is a deliberate omission.

You can fly with BA to Thailand via Doha or Hong Kong.

Because clowns are essential in a circus to get the show going.  In this case, one is bigger than the other.

clarifying that unvaccinated travelers or those without their documentation can fly but must take a test on arrival.

And what happens if you test positive, will they haul you off to some quarantine centre and forcibly isolate you for 2 weeks?

Those will be code shares, at least on the leg into BKK.

No BA metal into Thailand for at least another couple of months.

What a bunch of absolute muppets they truly are. ????

I had enough of them mismanaging my company (and affairs, accounts etc.). So much easier to have effective foreign managers running things for me. They cost more but boy are they worth it.

Things getting back to normal and they pull a stunt like this instead of limiting it to Chinese visitors.

Scared of big brother and unable to organise, manage or implement. A total clownshow.

Couldn't have made it China-specific. which is really

the intention I believe, because the CCP would have

been highly miffed!

Quite so, they would rather upset everyone going to Thailand, except the Chinese?

To make this decision just shows how their minds work, Chinese money over everyone else's money? Plus the fact they made the decision for mandatory vaccinations then had to change it, at the very last minute. To call it unprofessional is being polite, to call it absurd, ludicrous, xenophobic and moronic doesn't even begin to describe it, but I'm running out of adjectives!????

It's clear that Anutin wants credit for the return of the Chinese, and if he does what every country does by enforcing pre-departure test on only the Chinese, then he will not get any credit for adhering to the norm.

By doing something different, he kills two birds with one stone.  He flatters his Chinese masters, and he will brag that the influx of the Chinese tourists is a direct result of his policy NOT to single out Chinese tourists for COVID tests.

He shores up his profile to be the next PM of Thailand.  The guy is not stupid.  He just lacks intelligence.????

^^  I remember using VMS well.  We called out inter-office emails 'VMs'.  Back in the mid-'90s I moved from VMS to XTree!

requiring the Thai citizens to be vaccinated and the "tourist" not be checked is nuts!  check them all!

Thailand.  EVERY flight from China will have 50+% of its passengers infected judging by last week's data.

Actually every country in the world js accepting covid positive people because there is no more testing, same as they accept people with influenza.

Force majeure means insurance won't pay.

What is an example of a Force Majeure? Typical Force Majeure events include natural causes (fire, storms, floods), governmental or societal actions (war, invasion, civil unrest, labor strikes), infrastructure failures (transportation, energy), etc including a dipstick of a health minister ????

Why?  The Thais are returning to Thailand from a foreign Country that allegedely has people infected by the virus.  How different are Thai People to the rest of the World coming to Thailand.  Does the virus differentiate by Nationality?  Or is this just another case of Anutin's xenophobia?  This will create a great deal of damage to the Tourist Industry, purely through lack of thought and planning.  Great planning Guys!

stupid

when is the election

it would not surprise me if more people are getting severely ill or worse from the flu than CV19

There's no way anyone could have seen all this chaos coming, every last bit of it and more which will emerge over the next few days ????

Even a 'moron' should have been able to see this coming from a mile away ????

Problem is most morons didn't get vaccinated ages ago when it was free and easy.

This blow to the country’s tourism prospects and an already disappointing and slow-moving recovery is also coming with the decision by India to apply a RT-PCR test requirement to all visitors from Thailand including returning Indian tourists,...

I will definetly avoid travelling to any country that requires a PCR test. It is over sensitive, as it can show positive months after you have recovered from COVID because it still detects dead virus.
