Expect this whole thing to be reversed in a few days and the Thai government "Wai" their sorry for this decision.
Everything will be back to normal by the end of the month and tourism will be blooming again.
Followed in February by mass infection world wide due to the Thai and the tourists being exposed to the infected "....." Chinese ".....".
History repeating itself again.

Some folks did not vaccinated for medical reasons, or personal reason?

Thailand is the only country that is NOT requiring restrictions against only the Chinese? Reason because they don;t want upset the cash cow and President Xi?

The Thai government changed its entry requirements, giving less than 2 days notice to airlines worldwide and then changed them again? This is not how a professional organization behaves, its totally ludicrous!

I’m talking generally and not for exceptional circumstances. I think it is irresponsible of people not getting vaccinated regardless of travel to Thailand.

Reading this topic and others related, I can take a hint:

If you don't have anything not nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Don't listen to this kind of strong arm strategy!!!!  Be your own man, take a stand!!!!  speak your mind!!!

Putin said the same thing, so did Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Pol Pot.......and America said, "We will speak!!!!!!!"   lol.

We all know they are floppers.   Just imagine howany hours travel agents wasted and now all this extra work to communicate and refund to their customers.  Many will not book customers to Thailand again.  It will be easy for them to point out the crime, deadly roads, dual price gouging to redirect their customers to a cleaner safer democratic travel destination.   Might as well rename this hole to chiland

Why do you live in Thailand if this is what you think?

The last time, it could be argued they were inexperienced. This time? And you could make a further argument that the entire bunch, especially Anutin, were incompetent.

But now? Don't people learn from experience? Isn't that just simple evolution? Incompetence is no longer an excuse. Stupidity, arrogance, and perhaps indifference, yes. Maybe these guys are simply too rich to care.

They certainly are some of the greatest flip flippers around. Indecision, fear and stupidity are a lethal combination.

Don't forget cowardice as well

All this because they didn't want to single out the Chinese tourists, this is where the virus originated, so why shouldn't they be singled out??

The country has been happy to allow entry to everyone until now, but because they don't want to hurt the Chinese feelings, everyone has to comply with these requirements.

Yep, its just plain cowardice

Well just using the ctrl-f function the word 'stupid' occurs on this topic about 15 times. I get it.

Non-Thai passengers who are 18 or older must present documentation confirming they have received two COVID-19 vaccine doses or a doctor’s certificate stating that they have recovered from a COVID-19 infection in the past 180 days. Those who are not vaccinated must show a doctor’s letter explaining why they are not vaccinated.

Non-Thai passengers arriving from countries which refuse entry to infected people must have taken out COVID insurance, valid throughout their stay in Thailand plus seven days, before their departure for Thailand. Those who arrive in Thailand on business or air crew must have letters of guarantee from their employers.

What in Satans name is wrong with those Racism Idiots who put those restrictions together .

Do they think that the Thais are Better/ Higher on the social ladder then Non Thais?

Guess what ,they Ain't by a long shot /Quite a few Rungs Lower.

What is an example of a Force Majeure? Typical Force Majeure events include natural causes (fire, storms, floods), governmental or societal actions (war, invasion, civil unrest, labor strikes), infrastructure failures (transportation, energy), etc including a dipstick of a health minister ????

According to the story it's because of 'political instability in Thailand'.

Oh dear, the Thai generals won't like that!

It's not racist in the slightest.

Of course Thais are higher on the Thai hierarchical social ladder than non-Thais.

Actually, foreigners don't even get on the first rung.

If you mean the world social ladder, then I assure you most countries have no restrictions for their own citizens.

According to firsthand reports from people arriving at Suvarnbhumi airport and other international airports in #Thailand there’s no checking for insurance or vaccination documents and certainly no testing. However, this doesn’t mean this will not happen later.

A really intelligent measure. A Chinse tourist who had 2 Sinovac shots over a year ago is considered safe. 5555

Still this is from the team that pocketed a ton of cash from Sinovac.

Don't they also need a negative test?

To my understanding the rules go into effect today (someone just arriving from abroad this morning  may have departed before midnight).

Also to my understanding the plan is for airlines to enforce at time of check in, no plans for a check upon arrival (which would have huge manpower implications and aggravate bottlenecks at the airport).

May take time for all airlines to get the word, but unless the rules are revoked I think airlines  will start to  enforce.
