Lets see how many Chinese get refused entry then the quick turnaround woll happen. Plus when there is a sudden surge in Covid cases it wont be the Chinese, the dirty falangs will get the blame.

that's normal for any country for their citizens for re-entry.  It's not really discrimination when universal.

However, all the requirements to now get into Thailand ARE pretty blatant discrimination to rest of world to  suck on China teets.  

Nobody meets any of these requirements anymore EXCEPT for the people living in the stone age of China policy that have been mandated to keep re-filling the human body poison.  

Also a total joke as even Pfizer has come out and had to openly admit it doesn't prevent transmission.  No efficacy has been discovered. 

And even the establishment now advertises it as just cold like symptoms (but still promote getting boosters of course).

There is no purpose for any of this save the ability to manufacture tyranical control at the snap of a finger (for all countries save a very few).

Yep, I think they might have really screwed it this time for the tourist industry that isn't in the China market. They won't properly realize though until China shuts down again and they have no tourists at all.

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure.

Some people told me they were refused boarding by AirAsia for flights to #Thailand for not being vaccinated. This person said he’s vaccinated but didn’t have his documents on him. Meanwhile in Thailand, no-one is checking documents on arrival. Who will compensate these tourists?

Now that its rescinded all passengers who have suffered as a result should get compensation. Not much hope I know but that's the very least the government should do with the  sorry mess they alone created.

That's interesting that Anutin & at least one other welcoming host aren't wearing masks whilst in close proximity to an elevated covid risk group.

 

Obviously. they are leading by example that there's no need for the Thai public to wear them anymore as well !

Thai passport holders are exempt? Thankfully my wife & kids can travel from the UK on their Thai passports.

I wasn’t able to attend the press conference as I have Covid, but I would have asked Mr. Anutin, the guy in the photo not wearing a mask, who will compensate the tourists whose holidays were ruined by his flip-flopping. This fiasco has done immense damage to the tourism industry.

Not important, as no Chinese were inconvenienced or lost money. Mainly the damage was to Euros and perhaps some Americans, along with the rest of the world, and they don't count.

What is this all about?  It’s clear that those who have been vaxed twice last year have no/minimal immunity remaining.  Some knowledgeable researchers would argue that these people (those vaxed with lapsed ‘immunity’) are even more susceptible to being infected by the virus. I am tempted to believe that these new entry regulations are being put in place to give the appearance of taking meaningful action … to make those in power look good to voters. Any thought that these measures will stop or reduce Covid are delusional. The fact that the regulations don’t apply to Thai citizens tends to add further strength to this argument.

No surprise there. Chaos was inevitable the moment this announcement was made, effective almost immediately.

 

Why these blanket restrictions when for weeks foreigners and foreign tourists have been arriving in large numbers with no requirements at all? Because unlike other countries which have targeted only the newly released in to the wild Chinese after 3 years of being strictly confined Thailand does not want to upset the Chinese government by such a targeted approach. They'd rather see their own tourist industry take another big hit it seems.

 

I can't see any other justification given the numbers of foreigners that have already come. Including me last Thursday. Few wearing masks on my journey. cabin crew on plane were not.
