Maybe cos all they will do is give you anti biotics?

Omeprazol. Available over the counter.

What is Omeprazol used for?

It's widely used to treat indigestion and heartburn, and acid reflux. It's also taken to prevent and treat stomach ulcers. Omeprazole is a type of medicine called a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). Proton pumps are enzymes in the lining of your stomach that help it make acid to digest food.

Really?

Do all doctors do that?

Is there possibly somewhere a doctor out there who examines what is going on and treats you accordingly?

If the reason is really "trapped wind" the treatment is not so much omeprazol but simethicone (eg Air-X).

But if the pain is really bad the reason has to be determined (in Thailand usually by x-ray, maybe further diagnostics).

So it is necessary to see a doctor.

Trapped wind , buy a bottle of pepsi or other carbonated drink , thats

what I do when I have wind,

If it is trapped gas, consider taking a couple of activated charcoal tablets which works well for trapped gas. Just make sure not to take them within 2 hours (before OR after) eating food or taking medicine. Activated charcoal is cheap, effective and widely available.

That will usually make things worse

Would a massage on the belly not help?

But warn the masseuse beforehand!

You can't have an Xray unless you see a doctor. So what did the doctor prescribe?

Get investigated for this. It happened tome while in Thailand. A doctor failed to diagnose it. I returned to Australia where it was diagnosed quickly with an ultrasound. Life threatening. My symptoms were constant abdominal pain, inability to fart or defecate. Inability to eat.
