Venmo

Featured Replies

Is Venmo used at all in Bangkok? Is there a way to use some Venmo money in Thailand.  I could transfer to my linked bank account , 1-3 days then use wise to Thai bank account.  Venmo is used so much in America now.

Venmo is US only.

To create a personal account, you must be a resident of the United States or one of its territories, be at least 18 years old or the age of majority in your state of residence and use a cellular/wireless telephone number that you own.

How would it be to use real cash?

Someday we will be able to switch funds to prompt pay or the local electronic currency.

PromptPay has started to establish links to payment systems in other countries. For example, with PayNow in Singapore, I can transfer from my Singapore bank seamlessly to Thailand via PromptPay. However, the last time I checked the exchange rate, Wise was still better.

In general, it’s best to use local transfer methods for local transfers and Wise once you cross borders.
