Thailand’s House of Representatives meeting collapsed again today (Thursday), as only 151 MPs were present in the chamber, which is 60 short of the required quorum.

Deputy House Speaker Supachai Phosu chaired the morning session, during which ten impromptu interpellations were submitted by opposition MPs, to be answered by relevant ministers, but only two interpellations were responded to.

One of the interpellations was addressed to Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha regarding “grey” Chinese owned businesses in Thailand. The prime minister was absent, but assigned Deputy Defence Minister Chaicharn Changmongkol to respond on his behalf, but the latter was not available either.

Time to dissolve the Parliament and government to prevent the way for the new elections. Care taker government should be put in place, and Prayut and Co. removed.

Or.....even much more practical, the dissolution of government[s] in general.

It is shameful....How can you ever win the trust of the people if you act like children.. It is your job to govern and finish the term or just stop it and give new elections.. This is a bad sign for the new Government too... Suppose the new opposition will do the same.. how can you work than?

Does Thai parliament have the concept of a Speaker?

If so, he/she/they etc should fine each party for failing in their duty. Cost at % of seats held.

Or even more radical, each Politician not in attendance, use the concept of Whips to maintain Quorum.

Am I thinking the bleeding obvious, or is the Thai "Gas Works" just a kindergarten in all but name?

Anyone who doesn’t show up for a scheduled meeting should be fined and then fired after 3 strikes. And that is being generous, but TIT nothing will change any time soon. Don’t the Thais see they are paying for nothing. I’d certainly be <deleted>.

...and the population collectively sighed "Ah, nevermind, what's for lunch!"
