Just wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to do this?

I'll be entering Thailand on a visa exempt soon which will only give me 45 days. I understand I cannot do a border bounce with my old passport while waiting for a new one but can I extend my stamp with immigration?

This would give me 75 days in total which I figured would be enough time for the new passport to arrive. I was planning on booking an appointment with VFS for the day after I arrive in the country to give me maximum time. I have already asked them and they don't know if this is allowed.

Thanks!
