Why in February? 

Because of the so called weather invertion layers: cold-hot-cold. PM cant fly high therefore. 

The pollution is more or less the same but in February the pollution cant go away:).

 

Is it good anywhere in Thailand right? By the ocean or on the islands it's pretty clean right? Already my throat is hurting today in Chiang Mai (aka Smog City Siam).

Nope ... whole country is smogged in.  Even Phuket is in the 70's.  We're still knocking on 100 AQI, and we're 1 hr below Hua Hin
