Vladimir Putin has compared Russia's invasion of Ukraine to the fight against Nazi Germany, in a speech to mark the 80th anniversary of the conclusion of the Battle of Stalingrad.

Citing Germany's decision to send Leopard tanks to Ukraine, he claimed history was repeating itself.

"It's unbelievable but true," he said. "We are again being threatened by German Leopard tanks."

Germany is one of many countries helping Ukraine defend its territory.

Why to quote just a half of his sentence?

“It’s incredible, but it’s a fact: they are threatening us again with German Leopard tanks with crosses painted on their armor,” Putin said.

And they are again going to fight Russia on the territory of Ukraine with the hands of Hitler’s followers, the Banderites,” he said, referring to WWII-era Ukrainian nationalist leader Stepan Bandera who was widely considered to be a Nazi collaborator.

Yes, let’s have Putin’s propaganda in full.

German made tanks are not ‘German Tanks’.

Russia can avoid being on the receiving end of munitions from German made tanks in Ukraine, by calling off their illegal invasion of the sovereign state of Ukraine and returning to behind their own borders.

"once again they are preparing to battle Russia on >>Ukrainian soil<<"

"Banderites"? Really? And Putin is still trying to claim the Ukraine government is somehow neo-nazi. The sad thing is that defenders of the Russian invaders actually purport to believe this nonsense.

The ones out of Russia, No.

The ones in Russia who don't agree will say, Yes.

Out of a 140 million Russians I guess a lot will listen and agree with it.

The reason why Bandera is a hero to some in the Ukraine is his opposition to domination by Russia/The Soviet Union. There are very few who celebrate his anti-semitism. There is a lot less anti-Semitism in the Ukraine than there is in Russia

And you know full well why there was so much opposition to the resolution. Russia has been using those anti-nazi resolutions to justify their aggression in the region. Especially against Ukraine.

And what you failed to note this:

"Before the vote, Australia managed to get an amendment to the draft resolution adopted (63 votes in favor, 23 against and 65 abstentions) inserting a new paragraph in which the General Assembly "notes with alarm that the Russian Federation has sought to justify its territorial aggression against Ukraine on the purported basis of eliminating neo-Nazism, and underlines that the pretextual use of neo-Nazism to justify territorial aggression seriously undermines genuine attempts to combat neo-Nazism."

History repeats itself. It is not the German average Joe this time, fanned by Nazi slogans but an absolute ignorant government under the guidance of NATO in Brussels.

Germans were made to understand that their army may only protect Germany's borders; NATO managed to interpret, that there are "German" borders in Afghanistan and Ukraine.

Once the deal goes sour, the entire mishpachah can blame the Arians again and right they are.

This, of course, would be different, if those tanks would be painted in white with a blue/black UN on it while the crew would wear blue helmets - but that organization is busy with itself, it seems!

Hilarious that the Russians are paranoid of facing German tanks but somehow not Russian tanks.

It would be a mistake to think Russians are paranoid about Tanks they have faced them before which is what the threads about is my assumption.

it's nice to see Putin admit that it is UKRAINE's territory, not Ruzzia's.

I think there was something more than fishy about this text.

Australia, Japan, Liberia and North Macedonia: amendment to draft resolution A/C.3/77/L.5

Combating glorification of Nazism, neo-Nazism and other practices that contribute to fuelling contemporary forms of racism, racial discrimination, xenophobia and related intolerance

Before operative paragraph 3, insert a new operative paragraph, reading:

Notes with alarm that the Russian Federation has sought to justify its territorial aggression against Ukraine on the purported basis of eliminating neo-Nazism, and underlines that the pretextual use of neo-Nazism to justify territorial aggression seriously undermines genuine attempts to combat neo-Nazism;

the amendment was approved.

you attempt to use a false narrative used by Ruzzia at the UN to spread more fake news here.
You are just a mouthpiece of Ruzzian propaganda and misuse the forum. I think you should be sanctioned for that.

the problem of trying to misuse UN resolutions for propaganda purposes is that everything is logged and publicly archived.

but shame on you for trying.

Another western one who will not try and understand where his thinking comes from, right or wrong the only way that will lead to peace is dialogue.

I know where his thinking comes from.
He is very much mistaken and even the time for his type of thinking has long passed.

How to dialogue and explain it to him ?

Nonsense. Germany is a member of NATO. It's very clear what the obligations of a NATO member are. The cheif one being to defend other members of NATO if their territory is attacked,

NATO went into Afghanistan because a NATO member was attacked by forces that enjoyed the Afghani government's protection.

And it should be pointed out that far from prodding NATO to take action, the Bush Administration was not at all welcoming of the effort.

NATO IN AFGHANISTAN

"NATO’s invocation of Article 5 and allied offers of assistance immediately following the al
Qaeda attacks on the United States met a lukewarm response in the Bush administration,
where skepticism about NATO and allies was rampant in the new administration’s Pentagon.
When Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld proclaimed in September 2001, “The mission
determines the coalition. And the coalition must not be permitted to determine the mission,”
the message to the NATO allies was loud and clear: thanks, but no thanks."

Dialogue? You mean like "we're not going to invade, we're only conducting exercises. That dialogue?

As this sentence show in its obscurantist way, Sydebolle is an unapologetic anti-Semite.

Here's the definition of "Mishpachah":

"The meaning of MISHPACHAH is a Jewish family or social unit including close and distant relatives."

Making this a Jewish-Aryan dispute is, of course, nonsense. But to someone obsessed by Jew-hatred, as Sydebolle is, this makes perfect sense. Clearly, he's in sympathy with at least some of the essence of Nazi ideology.

There can be no dialogue or peace whist Puin is in power,

He will NOT give up trying to take the Ukraine.

When he is removed, then peace talks can begin in earnest.
