ubonr1971
Is the rule still 400k for 3 months in bank account for ext of stay based on marriage? If I were to not abide by this rule what happens then. Does it mean I will not be able to proceed with that ext of stay? Are immi depts flexible at all? KhunLA
Possible only 2 months, since you're extending. If you can't meet that, they may extend you 30 or 60 days, the time you need, while it seasons. They did that for me one year, a 30 day extension, as one year they didn't like my 40k monthly deposits paperwork, for some reason.
Lite Beer
Money in the bank for 2 months. If you cannot comply with this you can get a 60 day extension which will give you time. 1
brianthainess
Yes 2months before applying, some will say keep it for 3 months before reducing it, as it takes one month 'under consideration' ( I think this is where some think it is 3 months) but in 5yrs Immigration have NEVER checked my account again after I applied. just saying.
DrJack54
2 months. Immigration are strict on this. You can obtain 60 day extension to visit wife to season the funds.

Don't you just love the way that, every year, they spend a month deciding if you are allowed to 'visit' your wife.

Rastaputin
So, as these answers somehow differ on one point, may I ask for clarification: First Time 3 Month Money in Bank? Second and consecutive Extensions: 2 Month? Or the other way round?
BritManToo
It's 2 months.

nahkit
Did my marriage extension on the 10th, the immigration officer emphasised that the money in the account couldn't go below 400k during the under consideration period.

Interesting that you start a thread with basic question and then state the above Some immigration offices do check and while I have never read report of rejection for not maintaining funds for under consideration period the advice you posted is poor.
