Thailand is promoting its film industry as a shooting location for foreign films in an effort to boost the economy and improve the kingdom's image through cultural soft power, a government spokesman said.

Thailand's popularity as a filming destination has grown over the years due to its diverse locations and skilled production crews, which will help the Southeast Asian country become known for its beauty, said Anucha Burapachaisri, deputy secretary-general to the prime minister and government spokesman.

But but but - if they fly over here?  All the CO2 from the planes will melt the ice-caps and will flood Thailand.  They will need to move Bangkok back to Ayutthaya which will also be flooded. So - no no no no no - Don't come here.  It will melt the polar ice-caps.  Only Al Gore's and the WEF private jets are CO2-Free!!!

In reality, Thailand is popular because it cuts corners with safety on the set. Working conditions that call a halt to production anywhere in North America are SOP here.

Don't know about 'unsafe' but certainly not the overly regulated nanny state of most western countries.

Watching them work on the live wires outside my house recently I had no doubt about the unsafe aspect. Mind you, glad I had no loss of power!
