review of VFS online "visa exempt" extension

Featured Replies

Thought I'd try out the "VFS Online" service to extend my 45-day "visa exemption" this year.

https://thaiextension.vfsevisa.com/

Application process was only a bit tedious, as the online forms assume you're extending a tourist or retirement visa, rather than an exemption, despite "visa exemption" being specifically listed and selected on the list of options from the dropdown. Uploading images of the passport pages was very easy compared with the "Thai Pass" debacle though.

Application took less than 24 hours to get reviewed. VFS also book an appointment for you (you pick the date & time). Before booking on VFS, I checked the slot I wanted on both the CW and IT Square Laksi calendars. Only VFS was able to get me my preferred slot. So it seems VFS have access to slots that are not available on the online calendars off the Thai Immigration website.

Paid the ฿1900 extension fee, PLUS the extra ฿500 "standard fee", via CC online.

This post is to illustrate what you get for this extra fee (so far, not much).

Now VFS say that the appointment is at CW, but I am pretty sure visa exemptions are still only extended at IT Square Laksi.

I've emailed VFS to ask them to please confirm the location for the appointment, and they appear adamant that it should be done at CW.

I was wondering if anyone else has tried this before? Don't fancy having to dash from CW to IT Square if I can avoid it... deliberately picked an early appointment so I can hopefully just do a "walk in" at the other venue if it comes to that.

Will report back how it goes. So far though I'd say it's just simpler to do an early morning walk-in at IT Square...

Looking forward to the followup.

We offer a similar service but we also pickup your documents from your residence, and drop them off when completed.

Our fee is about 1,100 THB more expensive than the DIY option (3,500 THB including all fees).
