88% of Thailand bank accounts have less than 50,000 THB

According to the Bank of Thailand (BOT), total deposits in commercial banks increased 4.3% to 16.897 trillion baht in 2017. It said that the increase was caused by the BOT raising its policy rate, which caused commercial banks to raise their lending and deposit rates in response.

AN angry confrontation between two drivers at a Phuket hospital parking lot ended with one of them firing a shot at the other but fortunately he was not hit, Matichon newspaper said this evening (Mar. 7).

An arrest has been made in the horrific case of a man who set fire to his wife then stabbed her in full view of onlookers in Bang Poo Industrial estate on Monday afternoon.

Thai Women’s rights groups submit demands to government

Permits of Foundations Linked to Illegal Visas to Be Revoked

CHIANG MAI, March 8 (TNA) – Chiang Mai assistant governor will propose that four Chiang Mai-based foundations’ licenses be revoked after officials found that their claims to recruit Chinese nationals to do volunteer work for the foundations and facilitate them to get non-immigrant visas were groundless.
