Consequences of missing a flight

I missed my flight to CNX. Next one is scheduled for March 11. I am a US citizen and have a 90 day tourist visa. I also have a 9 year almost continuous history in Thailand from ED (majority), tourist and volunteer visas.

 

Is there potential for Chiang Mai immigration to ask why I didn't arrive on the start day of my visa and start probing further? Or is this not a big deal?

There are 2 dates on a tourist visa.  Issue Date and Enter Before/Expiry Date.  You are not expected to arrive on the Issue Date (a lot of times this would be impossible) but only before the Enter Before/Expiry Date.  90 day tourist visa?

Not a big deal, it's actually very common. With a single-entry visa, you don't really lose any time by arriving later. I've often spent several more weeks outside Thailand after obtaining a tourist visa.

People change flights all the time. 

Zero interest from immigration.

In one of your other thread it appears that you now have a tourist visa from Saigon consulate.

 

You can enter Thailand anytime during validity of the visa and be stamped in for 60 days.

Yeah I asked for 60 and got 90. I'm not complaining!

Doubt it.

You will be given a 60 day stamp when you enter Thailand with a tourist visa.

Given 90 days upon entry with a non O

The visa is valid for 90 days from issuance.

Immigration will stamp you in for 60 days.

Just to make it more clear for the OP - visa validity 90 days means you can enter Thailand within 90 days after the visa was issued. The permit to stay will be 60 days from entry date, entry date included

No, as said before you will only get 60 days.

It's perfectly normal that a single-entry tourist visa is valid for entry for 3 months. That's not to be confused with getting stamped in for 60 days upon entry. Two different things.
