Musa Ecweru has stated explicitly that he will make sure that "...there will be no space for homosexuals in Uganda."

What is in the legislation?

Up to the populations of countries to decide, nobody should have minorty propaganda forced on them at every turn

Equality is not propaganda.  Majorities are often against equality.

Not only about behaviors!

It's about behaviors

AND

Identity

AND

not reporting people that you know with the criminalized identity.

In some ways much worse than many Muslim countries.

How are identities identified without behavior?

I agree this kind of thing in appalling, and I support cutting off any aid and whatnot to all the countries that criminalize this type of behavior.

And what about the other 81 countries who also outlaw homosexuality?

I'm fairly sure that many of those countries have oil.

Oil trumps human rights!

Many don't and some aren't Muslim. Last year Singapore repealed their gay sex prohibition.  Some other counties may follow suit. That's the difference here.

Actually. it is not " about a country legislating to jail people simply for existing.", to be honest, it's about a country legislating to jail people for particular behaviors.

To be clear, I do not support the legislation, nor am I excusing it, but it is what it is.

Being gay is not a behaviour.

The bill could still be vetoed although that's looking unlikely now.  Chillingly Musa Ecweru has stated that they will "....reinforce the law enforcement officers..." to deal with homosexuals, so it seems like it's going to be an all-out attack on the LGBT community.

Why the Transport Minister has this brief is unclear.

The reference was to Islamic countries and not much appears on this forum about them that I have seen.

But this forum does not encapsulate the total gamut of protest and campaigning in respect to, well, anything. Therefore, the post to which I was initially responding:

Same as many muslim countries, you don't hear much outrage about them though

is clearly false unless one bases one's perspective solely on the topics posited in World News.
