Uncle's head found in sandpit in south after nephew cut it off in grisly drug fueled murder

The head of a former assistant phu yai ban in the south of Thailand has been found in a sandpit filled with water.

 

It was thrown there by his nephew who hacked it off and put it in a plastic bag. The nephew was high on drugs.

 

Wasana Rakjit, 52, had been attacked by Kiatsak or "Ek" Rakjit.

 

There had been a three day search for the missing head that has now been put together with the torso at Songkhla Nakharin Hospital ahead of religious ceremonies.

Thai Rath reported that there were tears from relatives but relief that the man's head had been located.

 

Locals saw it bobbing up in the water and alerted navy divers.

 

This all played out in Ban Nong Jork in Rattaphoom district.

 

Kiatsak was remanded in custody by the court on charges of premeditated murder and offences related to the illegal moving of a dead body.

 

The murderer was taken to court utilizing the back entrance of the police station, noted the media.

 

The case is now closed.

Thats Southern Thai / Malay border scene for you this been going on for decades since end of ww2 if not blowing up Songkla railway station +++ in 90s & prior + l guess still going so called fight  independence from Thailand to Malaysia all backed by Malay Gov & buy weapons from drug ???? out Burma lucky they are not already part of Malaysia death penalty for nephew no hesitation uncle gone part of crew been dismembered?

WTF - This happened in Rattaphum, northern Songkhla province near the border with Phatthalung not Malaysia. This is an area known for its hitmen and guns for hire. Neither the victim nor his nephew were Muslim.

Definitely not Ganja ...!

The undisclosed number of mentally deranged people , ( for whatever reason )  , in Thailand is worrying , especially as it comes with a tendency to act violently .

For farangs , the golden rule is to not interfere . Only in case somebody close is threatened ...

Since cannabis wasn't specifically mentioned, and you can be sure it would be if it could be, one assumes methamphetamine was the drug of choice.
