Popular Post Social Media Posted April 6, 2023 Popular Post Posted April 6, 2023 Forgive them Father, for they have taken to the pole… A French priest has received death threats after a sold-out pole dance performance was held in his church. Daniel Boessenbacher, the priest at the Protestant Saint-Guillaume church in Strasbourg, eastern France, told AFP he had alerted police to the threats after receiving two anonymous letters. “There is no doubt, this is about a show involving Stabat Mater and pole dancing,” he said. A baroque music and performing arts association, Passions Croisées (Interwoven Passions), rented the church last week for two performances of Giovanni Battista Pergolesi’s lyrical sequence Stabat Mater, which they combined with dance and pole dance acts. 3
StreetCowboy Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 I wasn’t invited either, but that’s no excuse for death threats 2
phetphet Posted April 6, 2023 Posted April 6, 2023 Well it worked, in that it was sold out. One way of increasing his congregation. ???? But joking aside, why do that in a church? He must have known it would upset some people. 1

Were pole dancing a thing in Israel when he walked on it's soil, he'd have been a friend of pole dancers, just as he was a friend of prostitutes. Saddens me when people don't understand their own religion. 1

Why didn't they just do it outside of the church? 1
