I think the "RE" part means that you entered on a re-entry permit. I have a similar stamp in my passport when I entered Thailand with a 1 year extension based on marriage with re-entry permit.

You are correct.

I jumped in with my reply too quickly. Assumed the RE is retirement.

However it's just Re-entry on RE permit.

You are marriage I'm retirement and think the OP may be Business

All the same stamp

I'm more intrigued by the "COPY COPY COPY" on the stamp... What's that about? And Suvarnabhumi stamp states BANGKOK, not SUVARNNABHUM. Is that a real stamp given at Bangkok immigration?

The reason I'm asking is that I've had a case when they forgot to stamp me in, maybe 2019, only stamping my PR book but not passport. Went back and got a stamp - and even that was a normal stamp, not a "copy" stamp.

Or is this a move of stamps into the new passport at immigration office?

Yes, I am also intrigued by the 'COPY COPY COPY' in the frame around the stamp.

When I entered Thailand with a Single-Entry Re-Entry Permit on 7 Nov 2022, the Re-Entry Permit was stamped 'USED' and striped out.  And my entry-stamp was done with a red stamp with Suvarnabhumi Airport on the left-side of the frame, with NON-RE handwritten by the border-immigration officer (as well as on top of the stamp the flight-number on which I entered).

Yes new passport

Yes new passport

In that case all should be good. The entry stamp is just transferred from previous passport, and the information copied over by hand. NON-RE means you had a non-immigrant visa with a re-entry, which you used for entry into the country, and the date or arrival plus period of stay are listed.

Happy holidays ????
