The Office of the Election Commission has defended the overseas trip by six of its commissioners against criticism that such a visit at this time, when election is just around the corner, may affect the EC’s election preparations.

In a written statement, issued today (Thursday), the EC’s Office said that the visit is in line with the plan to follow up on the preparations and management of elections being held in other countries.

The visit is nothing new and has been done every time there is a general election, claimed the EC’s office, adding that they have been coordinating with the Foreign Ministry and, this time, the ministry invited the election commissioners to inspect preparations abroad.

The EC is just ensuring that those other countries follow the "Thai Style Democracy" model as that's the only viable way to govern.

it's not clear to me how many people travel in total: they say they don't travel all together but in different (4-5) groups, but they also state it's about 6 people... is it maybe that they're allowed to bring their wives/families/mia-noi?

and what country (-ies)

Nowhere does it state where the commissions went  to , maybe the most

important part of the story , but you can bet it was not Scunthorpe  or Detroit

This has happened before. I recall just before a general election perhaps 10 years back the election commissioners complained about the plan agenda. They complained because there's wasn't enough time (on the oficial agenda/schedule) for shopping.

Yes, and I heard they all flew 'front of the bus' on THAI for free.

It's not abroad that they will learn how to r!&& elections. There is enough accumulated know-how in Thailand about it.

Though, they learned such devious and conniving acts from their Occidental cohorts, who are the premier masters.
