A 28-year-old man has been detained in Ubon Ratchathani Province, Thailand, on suspicion of intentional homicide. The suspect, identified as Mr. Athipong, resides in Na Yia District within the province.

 

His arrest followed an Ubon Ratchathani Provincial Court warrant (No. Jor 388/2565) issued on August 21, 2022.

 

Mr. Athipong faces charges of premeditated murder, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and discharging a weapon without justification.

 

The charges against Mr. Athipong also encompass his involvement in the brawl that resulted in a fatality, and contributing to civil unrest by associating with a group of ten or more people. At least one participant in the group was armed, reported Siam Rath.

 

Officers apprehended Mr. Athipong while he was shopping at a prominent market in Ubon Ratchathani municipality.

 

The combined efforts of the immigration investigation team and local authorities facilitated the suspect's swift arrest, moving the victim's family one step closer to justice and ensuring the safety of the community.

Immigration involved in a murder enquiry? Where were the 'normal' cops?

Will they give him an extension of stay in the Monkey House?

Totally agree! No word on why Immigration was involved......great reporting as usual!!

All murder is intentional is it not ?

I think it should have read pre meditated murder.
