2)What is Kaek?

5) Now this question has not been answered so i ask again " if i come on 2 month visa (visit), find a job, can i turn it into work visa?

This anti-Indian thing is not so bad- there is a level of discrimination but it's nothing that will get in the way of your daily activities. I have friends who are ethnic Indian and they function fine when conducting business here.

'Kaek' means 'guest' and is just the Thai way of describing someone from South-Asia- no less polite than 'farang' when the correct term is 'khon tang-chaat'.

As far as I know if you manage to find work you'll have to leave the country and change your visa to 'B' status and return. Not 100% sure on this as I'm no visa expert- hopefully others will chime in here.

If i get it,( I am looking for Managerial position in exports), i will choose SE ASIA. I hope i get it. Else its next ticket to Thiland in 30 days time. If god wishes, i make it to Thailand, i would like to meet some of you gracious members.

Hi Joseph,

Within a couple of weeks I will be

flying to Bangalore for a couple of months.

I hope to visit Hyderabad for the first time.

(Thai Airways recently introduced direct

non stop flights Bangkok / Bangalore)

Thanks for the gratitude you have shown

to the Forum.

May I ask you for some help?

Can you ask the Thai Embassy in

Abu Dhabi whether they are able to grant

Tourist Visas to Resident / Non Resident

Indian & Sri Lankan passport holders.

Thanks

Roger,

If you are asking that Thai embassy to issue visa to UAE. Its not possible. I know for sure. You can approach Emirates Airlines or Gulf Air for the same. They will give you a visa provided you fly them. Else You will have to fax your requirement to any hotel in UAE. They will be able to issue visa to you provided you stay with them.

Today night i am flying to Mumbai. If you wish tomorrow i can help you from mumbai counsulate.

Hi Joseph,

Sorry if I was not Clear.

Friends of mine, Indian & Sri Lankan Passport holders

Would like to know if they can get Thai Two month Tourist Visas

From the Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

They will be working in Dubai but not sure if that makes them Resident or not.

So if you could enquire whether Resident or Tourist Indian / Sri Lankan

passport holders will be granted.

Have a good flight to Mumbai

and I wish you success in moving to Thailand

here i am in Mumbai.

Yep they can get two months thai visa. ME embassies are very liberal in that respect.

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for contacting the

Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi.

But - can I clarify - Are you saying that the

Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi

will give Thai Tourist Visas to Indian &

Sri Lankan passport holders who are

just visiting UAE?

How are the Monsoon Rains in Mumbai?

As I said earlier I will fly to Bangalore next week.

Thanks for your help

Roger
