A man with two faces
I have slept on my right side for most of my life as my deviated septum causes one nostril to stay mostly open, and the other nostril to stay mostly closed. Switching to the left side for sleep leaves both nostrils blocked and I cannot sleep. A few years ago, I bought a packet of ‘soft polymer rings’ that are joined together and fit in both nostrils (“Mute nasal dilators”), and this permits sleeping on left or right side. Sleeping constantly on one side for many years has meant that side of my face is constantly stretched or squashed by the pillow. Now in my seventies, I see one side of my face looks about 5 year older (maybe more) than the other side, as it’s more heavily creased and slack. Sometimes, I see someone else with the same issue. Actor Anthony Hopkins is a good example – if I remember looks like he always sleeps on the left side as that side has additional creases, etc. How to fix the extra wrinkly side? I could not be bothered with daily creams. I guess some sort of surgery, preferably minor on one side only, and not the more extreme type where they pull the whole side of the face and like cut behind the ear to hide the full extent of the scars? -

Xi Can’t Conquer Taiwan Until He Tames His Own Generals
Over the past two years, two defense ministers and a host of senior People’s Liberation Army officers have been removed from their positions, including top leaders of the Rocket Force, which controls China’s nuclear weapons. Heads continue to roll, including, according to recent reports, one of the highest-profile ousters yet: Gen. He Weidong, the country’s second-ranking officer, who reported directly to Mr. Xi and has been deeply involved in planning for a theoretical Taiwan invasion. https://archive.ph/rAzAX -

Report Thai Restaurant Accuses Foreign Couple of Menu Theft for Copycat Plans
Well, as an American who enjoys many Thai dishes for more than half my life of 78 years, and having eaten Thai dishes in many Thai restaurants in the US, I am a witness to a multitude of Americans enjoying those Thai dishes too. And, folks here get to eat those thai dishes as a much lower price than those prices charged in the US restaurants yet they are always crowded! -

Travel Rising Prices, Broken Systems Dim Thailand’s Tourist Charm
I think the problem is twofold. 1, Thailand doesn't really have enough to attract the "high quality tourists" in great numbers. 2, they seem to have been trying to drive away backpackers for years. That's their choice, of course, but it seems to be one that is somewhat counterproductive. -

The downhill trajectory of Chiang Mai immigration
I agree. I use the Central Festival branch and am in and out very quickly. The problem at the old location has always been parking.
