Popular Post Social Media
Vienna Travellers on an intercity train in Austria were startled on Sunday when a recording of an Adolf Hitler speech was played on board. Instead of the normal announcements, a crowd could also be heard shouting "Heil Hitler" and "Sieg Heil" over the train's speaker system. The operator said there had been several such incidents in recent days. One passenger on the Bregenz-Vienna service told the BBC that everyone on the train was "completely shocked". David Stoegmueller, a Green Party MP, said the speech by the Nazi German leader was played over the intercom shortly before the train, an ÖBB Railjet 661, arrived in Vienna. "We heard two episodes," he said. "First there was 30 seconds of a Hitler speech, and then I heard 'Sieg Heil'."

jollyhangmon
Not hard to do actually, like 7 access points to the PA system throughout the train only secured by those standard 4kant keys for quick access, you know like used for chimney doors ... 2 not so clever idiots already identified btw. - you guessed it - on CCTV, 5555 ...
Popular Post JackGats
If I'm not mistaken, playing Hitler's speeches anywhere (including in your own home) is against the law in Austria just like in Germany. If you set your VPN to Germany you should not get any Hitler speech on Youtube. Same thing regarding nazi songs like the nazi "national anthem" (Die Fahne hoch ...). You can click to hear excerpts on Wikipedia except on the German Wikipedia. Even the tune is banned in Germany. You're not allowed to hum it. Jingthing
I would see this differently depending on the motivation of the perps. Like if they were Nazis vs just silly adolescent pranksters. I did such a big prank myself in my youth. I stole the contents of a garbage can from the home of the Vice Principal of my high school and published a picture of it along with a full detailed inventory on the front page of the high school newspaper. There were a few juicy items in the list. Stolen garbage exposes of celebrities was trendy at the time so not an original idea. The miracle is that I wasn't expelled ha ha. Technically at least back then taking garbage left out for collection wasn't a crime. Edited May 16, 2023 by Jingthing

An embarrassed vice- principal vs. a trainload of infuriated passengers (I am assuming that the majority of passengers were right-minded <not right in the political sense of the word>) and negative publicity for the nation. Imo if the perpetrators were Nazis then they should be prosecuted under Austrian law. If they were stupid adolescent pranksters, then they should be told and shown why their actions were inappropriate.

I'd imagine there may have been some politically right minded people on the bus. Though that doesn't have anything to do with Hitler and isn't related . You can't just say people on the right are admirers of Hitler, just as I can't say people on the left are admirers of Stalin or Castro. And by the way, The National Socialist (Nazi) Party shared ideals with both the left and right. The clue is in their name: national(ist) which is a right ideal and socialist which is a left ideal. Actually, their full name was The National Socialist German Worker's Party. If the nationalism part weren't included in their ideology, they'd have been considered totally left wing. In fact, their rise to power was largely due to the German middle class' savings being destroyed by high inflation and Hitler vowed to fix that with socialism (a left ideal). They actually didn't like capitalism (which is a right ideal). Edited May 16, 2023 by 2009
