Democrat Donna Deegan became the first woman to be elected mayor of Jacksonville, Florida—beating out Republican Daniel Davis, a former state legislator who had the backing of Gov. Ron DeSantis, in a runoff.

Deegan’s win, with 52 percent of the vote, is a stunning upset by Democrats. Jacksonville is a longtime GOP stronghold and, before Tuesday, stood as the largest city in the country to have a Republican mayor.

There hasn’t been a Democrat in charge since 2015.

This could be quite significant. Maybe Floridians are becoming fed up with Desantis' attacks on Florida's largest employer and not happy with the very strict limits imposed by the abortion law that was recently passed.

It seems Independents broke for the Democratic candidate on election day.

And if I may Ronnie’s attacks on decency understanding inclusion diversity knowledge and his support of more and more deadly weapons on the streets without background checks his theatrical bs his failure to address the rampant drug problems in his state his total abject terror of confronting trump another words his failure to actually be a governor in the sense of addressing the existing problems.perhaps the people of Florida are catching on to this guy?
