Disney on Thursday upped the ante in its battle with Florida’s Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis, and it cost his state 2,000 white-collar jobs.

Disney is scrapping plans to build a $1 billion office complex in Florida, citing “changing business conditions,” according to a memo provided by a Disney spokesperson.

The decision comes at a time when the company is openly feuding with DeSantis, who is expected to officially enter the 2024 GOP presidential race next week, CNN reported Thursday.

The state has always censored stuff that kids are too young to see regarding sexually explicit content.   That is why certain movies are given adult ratings.   Only "people" with very questionable intentions for kids would want them sexualised at such a young age.

Why is it that you want kids to see this stuff?

I don't think that's true. It's been up to localities to decide. I guess now you think it should be up to big gubbamint to decide what the standards should be?

And what's this got to do with the fact that the Desantis is deploying the resource of the State of Florida to punish Disney for publicly criticizing the government?

To me it seems like he is showing all the traits of a dictator that just doesn't have absolute power yet. Very strong populist agendas. Vindictiveness as you said. Focus on attacking something or somebody instead of putting the energy towards positive ventures and being an inspiring rolemodel. Trying to instill fear to suppress opponents.

He shares a lot of these traits with Trump but seems even more aggressive and trying to properly hurt his targets. Scary to have someone like that in power. But as we are seeing people like that will try to tear each other apart even if they are from the same party.

Don’t worry he’s not a real governor he only plays one to pander for votes he does little to address the poverty rampant drug addiction and crime in the state he’s supposed to govern he’s much to busy picking fights with Mikey mouse and attacking the most defenseless in society .truly sad

Good on you Ron, stick to your guns. The shareholders of Disney might not like this move away from Florida as it is only political.

What guns are those? Trying to make business difficult for a company because it's voiced opinions that you don't like?

Nobody from Disney is moving away from Florida, all DeSantis has achieved is lose an extra workforce of 2,000 Disney employees many of which were going to be re located from California and others needed to be recruited. All white collar jobs. Oh and of course the sum of nearly $1 billion investment and all the other local jobs it would have created.

Yea stick to your guns Ron, way to go......lol

Staying in Florida is cheaper tax wise.
