UPDATE - This week, there appeared to be little traction in the public’s mind or acceptance that the results of the General Election outcome, acclaimed, more and more, as a historic shift for Thailand, could be overturned by the Election Commission’s pursuit of a complaint against the expected leader of the next government Mr Pita Limjaroenrat.

The Royal Thai Police are coordinating with the Chinese Embassy to check the backgrounds of 48 Chinese nationals, including 18 women, who were arrested during a raid on an entertainment venue in Bangkok’s Huai Khwang early Friday morning.

The harrowing scene on Tuesday in the Bueng Nam Rak Sub District of Thanyaburi in Pathum Thani province where a slumped 52-year-old woman was found dead by neighbours after being shot dead by the former owner of the property she had purchased in foreclosure from a bank which the 66-year-old man, identified as Mr Decha, refused to vacate since last year.

 

Police this week only convinced the irate elderly man to surrender by promising him access to key media programmes to vent his point of view after he murdered the new owner of his home.

EC to announce election results of 475 constituencies sooner than 60 days

The Election Commission (EC) is expected to announce the election results formally for 475 out of the 500 electoral constituencies (95% of the ballots cast) sooner than the 60-day deadline, so coalition parties will be able to form a government, EC Chairman Itthiporn Boonpracong said on Saturday.

Thai food has been listed as the fourth most popular foreign cuisine in China, after western, Japanese, and Korean food. The number of Chinese tourists visiting Thailand has also continued to rise, since China fully reopened the country in early 2023 to allow international travel.

Sleeping Thai man attacked with acid, suspect flees neighbouring room

A 46 year old Thai man was attacked with acid while asleep in his rented room in Thailand’s central Samut Prakan province. The neighbouring room’s tenant, who had a previous altercation with the victim, disappeared after the incident.

Mysterious death of Thai man just days after leaving prison

A 46 year old Thai man, recently released from prison, was found dead under a broken election banner in the northeast Nakhon Ratchasima province, just three days after his release. Authorities believe the cause of death could be sudden heart failure due to the extreme heat and his weak physical condition.
