webfact
A truck carrying prefabricated house experienced a complete collapse, damaging the entire load and causing a collision with a streetlight, resulting in its toppling. On June 9th, 2023, at approximately 6:00 p.m., Sergeant Major Nopnada Manichai, a female officer on duty at the Muang Ratchaburi Police Station, received a report about a truck transporting prefabricated house. The truck had collided with a streetlight, causing extensive damage to both the streetlight and the prefabricated house. As a result, the fallen debris obstructed the road, leading to significant traffic congestion. The incident occurred on the Ratchaburi-Chombung Road, specifically in the vicinity of Bridge 15, at Tambon Kho Plappla, Muang District. Immediately, the authorities contacted the traffic police officers at the Muang Ratchaburi Police Station and sought assistance from the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Traffic Accidents to manage the traffic situation and prevent further accidents. At the scene, it was discovered that the accident had caused the prefabricated house to collapse, with their debris scattered across the road. Moreover, one of the streetlights had been struck by the truck and subsequently toppled, obstructing one side of the road. Picture: Siam Rath The highway department personnel promptly initiated efforts to clear the debris and restore the traffic flow. Preliminary investigations revealed that the driver of the truck carrying the prefabricated house was Mr. Somleng (surname withheld). He had purchased the house for 150,000 Thai Baht from Bang Phae District in Ratchaburi Province, with the intention of delivering it to a customer's location. Unfortunately, while maneuvering the vehicle, Mr. Somleng veered towards the right, causing the protruding part of the house to collide with the streetlight. The impact led to further collision with another streetlight, resulting in the complete collapse of the house and significant damage. Subsequently, Mr. Somleng enlisted additional personnel to clear the debris from the road, while heavy equipment was deployed to remove the remaining wreckage and restore the traffic flow. ChrisY1
Ok….seems Thailand has a way to go to perfect the modular housing industry! After good building principles….quality materials….an understanding of structural engineering in housing and of course, training systems for workers proficiency…..then progress will be seen. Until then, expect more buildings to collapse en route to the destination:))
ikke1959
It seems that the streetlight was of more concern than the rest
NE1
Stack it up as high and wide as you can , no worries. It doesn't matter what they are transporting , there seems to be no limits . Some are too wide , some too high and some too heavy. See a lot of it in rural areas. This is a dodgy place , people stop at restaurants just before this bridge and leave the back end of their vehicle hanging out in to the inside lane , causing two lanes to merge as one , it has been a bit of a black spot for a while.
