webfact
Picture: Naewna On the evening of June 29th, a horrifying incident unfolded in Kalasin province, captured on surveillance video. The episode involved a man, partnered with a drug-dependent accomplice, launching a savage assault on his father. The target of the violence, Suriya, aged 55 (surname undisclosed), had earlier denied funding their drug dependencies, triggering an intense argument. The friend, identifiable by his yellow attire, became particularly violent, battering Suriya with a knife and kick blows, even as he lay incapacitated. Suriya's biological son witnessed the ordeal but did nothing to mitigate it, reported Naewna Picture: Naewna Authorities were informed promptly, leading to the capture of the two culprits. Drug tests turned out positive, and they are now facing an array of charges, including assault, home invasion, and ongoing abuse. Picture: Naewna Despite his serious injuries, Suriya was swiftly transported to a nearby hospital and is currently stable. The entire event, documented by Suriya's daughter residing abroad, has sparked massive public indignation. Doesn't matter....In Thailand pretty much any & all drug including alcohol or even nicotine dependencies have at some point escalated to this type of abusive behavior It speaks more to the entitled attitudes many seem to exhibit here. Funny how they also like to show how much respect they have for their elders & on the other hand abuses such as this occur But yes even in our village we have seen young druggies of all substances steal from grandparents to pay for their habits Edited June 30, 2023 by mania 2 1

In my home country, 75% of court cases are alcohol related, yet they are allowed to advertise freely, or at least they were when I lived there.

JeffersLos
Addiction is a terrible disease. Give these poor young men the help that they need, so they can reenter Thai society as well adjusted, as honest, as moral, and as peaceful as all the other members of Thai society. ????

Well, Thailand isn't big on helping people rehabilitate or get over their addictions, so let's just make an example of these two and sling them where they belong! Good luck with educating these lot up in Isaarn, many can't even read or write, let alone string a sentence together. And a great many young ones are simply not interested whatsoever in work. Effective laws? How can that be achieved with a Police Force rotten to the core.
