I need to extend my visa tomorrow but Sunday. Will i get charged overstay if go in on Monday? Also. Are there any traps to look out for when extending visa at  Bangkok?

A planned overstay is never a good idea nowadays, you should have gone earlier this week and you wouldn't have lost any days by doing so, as the extension starts from when your current permission to stay expires.

That being said, if your permission to stay expires during a weekend or holiday, you won't be charged for an overstay if you go to immigration on the very next working day.

Thanks so much. I have a bank statement as proof of adress. Will this suffice?

No it will not.

Seems you are asking about 30 day extension to either tourist visa or visa exempt.

Which immigration office are you using for extension?

If no TM30 has been done, move to a hotel tomorrow, and go for the extension Monday with a confirmation of a TM30 from the hotel.

Last time I just used a hotel booking. No tm30 required. Will it work?

It's hit and miss. If no TM30 has been filed for you in their system with a Bangkok address, there's a good chance that they'll ask you for proof.

Staying at a hotel and showing a hotel booking, they MIGHT be lenient with you as it's the hotel's responsibility (not yours), but don't bank on it - you're taking the cake, showing up with an overstay AND no TM30.

Last time i tried on Sukkhumvit to get tm30 woth hotel booking. None had heard of it. Someone please help me out here

You have left it very late.

For folk on visa exempt entry or tourist visa do not need to do anything regards TM30 UNLESS they plan to attend immigration for a 30 day extension.

Knowing that prior to check into a hotel you ask if they do a TM30 and can provide you with screenshot of filing .

You are going to Laksi.

The document check chicks will most likely ask for your TM30.

You have backed yourself into foolish situation.

How do i get a tm 30. No hotels were providing

Hotels do not usually print out the TM 30 but you WILL be in the system.

Immigration can look online.

That is incorrect.

Immigration OFTEN ask for TM30 screenshot.

MANY threads re this.

Here is one

https://aseannow.com/topic/1294130-exempt-visa-extension-denied-because-of-no-tm-30/

Think again Jack.

I have stayed in hotels in Thailand for 30 years.

NONE give a screenshot.

The screenshot saves them from looking online.

If you tell them that it was a hotel or that you have lost it, they can check online.

This has happened to a number of people here.

One couple were not in the system. Did not have a TM 30. Their landlord had never done one in his life.

Whilst waiting in the queue at immigration, their landlord called me and we managed to get them recorded.

By the time they reached the counter, the girls checked online.

All good. Sorry, you can go home.

They did not have a screenshot but they do now.

Immigration ask for a screenshot because they are lazy but it is not the only solution.

I got an extension last week.  Simple extra 30 days added to my 30 Visa exempt.

I volutarily wanted to show Checker of documents my TM 30, not the easiet thing to get-many smaller hotel say FKK it, what she said shocked me to the core.

Air arrivals Visa exempt dont need TM 30 to get extension.

Was she Trolling me or not.  Was she lazy?

I was so Proud of my TM30....hahaha.

Can anyone clarify that air arrivals not need tm30 for visa extension? How about tm28 ftom police station?

Arrival by air or by land border have nothing to do with a TM30. A TM30 must be done by your hotel when you check in.

As well as TM30 done, for your extension you'll need:

TM7 form (from immigration)

Copy of passport ID page

Copy of entry stamp

Passport photo

1900 baht

Not sure why you think you need bank statements or TM28 from police (whatever that is)

It has nothing to do with how you arrive. Whether they ask you for proof of TM30 is hit and miss as I wrote earlier, as Thai immigration pretty much operates in "crackdown mode". Just be aware that there's a chance that you won't even get past the initial document check without a TM30 receipt.
