Getting back from NongKhai to BKK
I purchased the beers at Don Mueang Seven11 intended for consumption in the level 1 BKK Airport secret food court as they charge 500baht for small can as opposed to my large cans for about 70baht, inflated 7/11 airport prices. The problem was that when I entered the Magic Food court the counter staff woman has a sign up closed for 20mins. Even though she was there she would not change money from me and one lady behind and load a plastic card for us. Surely that’s 20 mins all the food court shops will see a sudden drop off of people approaching their counters? Can’t make it up. So I sat out side and drank the Chang Espresso can. Feeling the effects I entered the cafe and charged a card and got some food and hit the can of Singha. Then got another meal. That’s when I checked my boarding pass and saw the flight was closing in 15mins. Gang busters!! Again. I’m sitting at the Emirates gate now to head back to Blighty with gate closing in 9 mins and I’m still sitting down with 90 people, I’m getting up before a massive queue forms as they all realise -

H&M, if you have one near you has 100% cotton t-shirts. They are in several big malls in Bangkok. Or you could try Amazon for online delivery. Uniqlo is mainly synthetic clothing which I find too hot and sticky in Thailand's climate. Although they may have some 100% cotton. -

Thailand is dependent on farming to survive. No rice, the country's in a lot of trouble. Life exists everywhere because of farmers, especially in a poor country with mostly imports. Even in America, mechanized means running harvesters and planters. Farms are still run by farmers. -

Detecting water leaks
I had a leak under my house. Started with the pump cycling briefly one night and then became more frequent over a period of months until it was almost constant and we would shut off the pump when not in use. I would recommend to isolate the pump with a stop valve before and after to check if holding pressure, closing individual valves and both together. ( many pumps have a built in non return valve which could allow you pressure loss back to the tank if faulty ).If pump holding pressure then concentrate on the pipework and hardware. As said above, toilets can be a source of leaks if water is draining into the bowl or taps dripping. Check initially for any visible leaks, dry off the shower and check after a few hours for any seeping through the wall. Outside taps or sinks are a likely cause of small leaks. In my case i took several months to search for the leak inside the house but found nothing. Dug up the concrete outside the back door to fit a temporary stop valve just before where the pvc pipe disappeared under the house. The pump held pressure right up to the house but was leaking somewhere after. After convincing myself that the leak was not visible in the house therefore must be under the tiled concrete floor. I did some searching for leak detection but was not convinced that it could detect a small leak under a concrete floor so repiped the whole house externally !! Not a job I would wish on anyone although I did kind of enjoy the project. To the OP: Narrow down where your leak might be. Eliminate the pump first. Eliminate whether outside the house or somewhere inside. I didn’t try any leak detection service but maybe others have tried with success. Good luck. -

What’s the best area in Thailand for expats to settle for long-term living?
Depends a lot on what your interests are. A big consideration for me was to be close to airports for International travel so Bangkok was a no brainer there. Well, you could go to Chiangmai but that usually adds another stop. If you don't travel much that's probably not a deal breaker. If living within Bangkok my considerations was walking distances to supermarkets and BTS/MRT stations. I ended up on upper Sukhumvit 22 which is a short walk or bike to the MRT, BTS, Makro, Foodland, Big C, Lotus, Villa Mart and Gourmet Market. -

It sould be noted that from a health point of view, a light T shirt only offers a relatively low SF.......5-15. The advantage of course is this SF is permanent. -
