I’m a victim of political persecution : Pita

Move Forward leader Pita Limjaroenrat has questioned whether he had been a victim of political persecution by the Election Commission (EC).

 

He wrote in his Facebook post today that he would like to know whether the investigative committee had concluded its findings before the EC asked the Constitutional Court to suspend him from performing duty as an MP, even though the EC claims that the investigation process and its petition to the Charter Court are separate issues.

 

Pita referred to previous media shareholding cases, involving about 60 MPs, saying that the Constitutional Court had not ordered any of them to be suspended from performing their duties but, in this case, he was ordered so to do.

 

“I would like to ask society to judge whether such an order is fair or not?” said Pita at the end of his post.

 

He was responding to a report that the EC investigating committee has recommended the EC to drop the charge that he violated the election law for allegedly holding shares in a media firm while filing candidacy in the May-14 election.

I hate to say this, but it's his own fault. He knew what happened to his predecessor, and is educated and smart enough to know that he needed to be squeaky clean before stating his election pledges.

Any educated individual knows that being “squeaky clean” would not have prevented what was done to Pita by the dinosaurs.

He knew what happened to Tanathorn and should have got rid of the shares. Signed them over to his mother, just to mitigate that problematic issue.

Can't say he's wrong but why tf didn't he sell those shares? It's kinda his own fault knowing Thailand as he should. The exact same thing happened prior, same party.

It was a fake mission of the EC and CC ....These peopel had never imagined that a civil party would win the elections with a majority of 151 seats.. So they had to do something to stop them of forming a Government. The instructed senators knew this too... It is just a consperacy to keep Pita away... Sadly that Thailand will be not going forward and that will result also in less tourism and economy

Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode where Kramer makes fun of George when he sheepishly tries to court a woman. Pita is saying...  will you pretty please let me be PM. When he should be going at it hammer and tongs with abuse and threats and insist he is PM already.  Everybody follow me to FREEEEDOMMMM!

What you say is correct, but if it wasn't the media shares they would have found something else.

Some people have no pride. The whole country knows who won the most votes and who should really be PM. But those who grab the top spot by hook or by CROOK, don't give a rats behind what they look like or what is said about them. Their compensation is their snout in the trough and a chance to steal from the people.
