The Bible says "...Ashes to ashes, dust to dust..." so it would seem cremation kind of speeds that along.

As humans we tend to think about things in a different perspective than the "Hereafter" beings.

A man asked God "How much is a million dollars to you?" and God replied "Just a penny." The man then asked God "How long is a million years to you?" and God replied "A second." Then the man asked God "Can I have a million dollars?" and God replied "Sure, just a second.".
