New Police Chief Appointment Withdrawn from Consideration

BANGKOK, Aug 25 (TNA) – The police commission meeting, chaired by caretaker Prime Minister Gen Prayuth Chan-ocha on Friday has withdrawn the appointment of the new police chief from consideration.

 

It was previously speculated that the high-level meeting at the Royal Thai Police headquarters would endorse the new police chief to replace Pol Gen Damrongsak Kittiprapas, who will retire on Sept 30.

 

Pol Lt Gen Archayon Kraithong, spokesman for the national police said after the meeting that outgoing prime minister Gen Prayuth decided to withdraw the appointment of the new police chief from consideration and would let the incoming government to do the task in accordance with the ethical principles after the royal command officially appointed Srettha Thavisin as the new prime minister.

The top job usually goes to the cop who has only a year or maximum two to go before retirement. That puts that Big joke in the bracket as a bit young for the job I would say.
