School bus crashes into paddy field in Ubon Ratchathani

A school bus skidded off a road and plunged into a flooded paddy field in Warin Chamrap district of Ubon Ratchathani province this morning (Friday).

Twenty-eight passengers, who are students and Buddhist novices from a school in Muang district, were slightly injured and were taken to a nearby hospital.

On arrival, police found the six-wheel school bus lying on its side in the flooded field. They interviewed the bus driver, identified only as “Komsan”, 39, who said that he was driving through Baan Mai Kang village to pick up students when the accident happened.

'Komsan claimed the accident happened due to the narrowness of the road'.

Had it shrunk since the last time he used it?

Who cares about the rice apart from the farmer?

Care about the students instead.

This is now a daily occurence, sadly. Yesterday it was a bus who accelerated into a light post in Korat whilst trying to beat the red light. He also flipped his vehicle and injured 16 innocent young passengers. Kids are also under daily attack from violence in the schools themselves. Traffic laws and teacher supervision are not working.

Indeed....  Is there any accident in Thailand where the Thai person at fault puts up their hands any states that they made a mistake ??

... They ALWAYS blame something else... something inanimate...  the response is always outrageously juvenile, the people involved in these incidents have the minds of children.

Exactly. We might try and lie our way out of something as kids, but we soon grow up to take responsibility. We, not Thais, so many of whom go through life with the mind of a child.

Hooray for sub editors that can write a headline. It is so sad they have all retired. Thanks for reminding us all of what a fine job they did.

Un-ripe, the water was rather wet

Luckily the students were only slightly hurt, I'm sure it was because they were all obeying the law wearing seatbelts.

(sarcasm mode off)
