Government public health insurance 750B per month

Featured Replies

Hi folks, when u work for a company in Thailand u get this public health insurance for 750B per month. (Even for a foreigner)

I heard from a Thai person that Thais are able to extend this insurance whether when they are unemployed or are retired by continuing to pay 750B.

Are foreigners eligible for this?

Yes, you can continue paying for Social Security as a foreigner.

Not sure what the rate is mind, I'm sure someone more knowledgeable  will be along soon.

"I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"

I have been paying 432 baht per month forever (> 20 years). Direct debit from my personal account.

Yes, possible, but afaik you have to be enrolled for at least a year before  you can continue paying it by yourself. If you work for less than a year than you can't continue paying it by yourself

Thanks for your info.

So who should I contact about this? Labour office?

Also is there any documents they may request?

After you stop work, you have 6 months to apply to continue. You apply at any Social Security office.
