POLICE CHIEF Pol.Gen. Torsak Sukwimon today (Oct.17) ordered executive officials of Police Hospital to find out about the current condition of the “sickly” de facto Pheu Thai boss/convicted inmate Thaksin Shinawatra and whether he could possibly have feigned his way to hospital only to stay away from jail as alleged.

The newly-named police chief said he does not know much about the event in which the deposed prime minister has been staying at Police Hospital for “illnesses” details of which had not been available to publicly disclose for nearly two months now, thus prompting him to order the hospital’s executive officials to find out the facts and report him in due course.

Pol.Gen.Torsak’s comment followed a snapshot recently taken showing the “sickly” Thaksin being wheeled in a stretcher from one building to another in the premises of Police Hospital, which is literally next to the National Police headquarters, for a CT Scan and MRI.

Corrections Department director-general Sahakarn Petnarin is yet to endorse an imminent request for Thaksin’s longer stay for medical treatment at Police Hospital beyond a 60-day limit which is ending on the upcoming Friday.

But...But....he is not a physician as far as I know

Games on perhaps two levels:

1. Going through the motions to placate critics

2. Reminding the patient he hasn't been given a clean bill of health yet, and needs to obey 'doctor's' orders

Yes, but face is saved and the invisible hand can be blamed.

I'm still waiting for Yingluck to drop by for some fun between the sheets

She's getting kind of crusty though, does she have an adult daughter or younger sister?

Sounds like he wants his piece of the action. Doubt if he got part of the bung in the original deal. Making his presence known and that he needs his sweetener to make it go away..

I think his lawyer will be jumping in on this...Confidential records , invasion of privacy . court order etc.

He was originally taken to the hospital after spending less than a day (probably in a VIP private cell) in prison, complaining of "insomnia".

That's it. Insomnia. I guess the bed in the special cell wasn't up to the standards he was used to.

So he gets taken to a luxury VIP hospital suite so he can have a nice nap. And then they have to concoct excuses to keep him there.

And when photos come out of him having fun in a swimming pool with his grandkids - they have to come up with a photo of him on a stretcher "looking sickly" to try and convince people that he should be allowed to stay in his VIP hospital suite.

And it's blatantly obvious to everyone. I'm sure they are working on giving him a full pardon "for health reasons" within a couple weeks. And once he's pardon, he'll immediately be given a position in the gov't (as an "advisor" that tells the actual PM what to say and do, starting with unfreezing all his bank accounts and returning all his money).

Thinks, suspects, is convinced.

Not knows.

This whole thing is becoming a rather poor advert for Thailand.

"In due course" & how long is a piece of string???

Do you think so? After the remarkable shenanigans of the last decades, coups, rigged elections, military governments, ignored election results? Do you think anyone ( outside a small number of resident expats who can never forget he closed the bars at 2AM perhaps - stopping them from drinking and shagging themselves into an early grave) gives a monkeys?

There are a lot of other, far more consequential things going on, nationally, regionally and globally!
