Regular tourism mixed with millions of Malaysian men who visit Sungai Kolok and other border areas to enjoy the ladies of the night on the Thai side.

Yeah, I went through there 15 years ago and that's exactly what I saw. I couldn't believe how much action there was going on. So they stay mostly in the south, that's what I thought.

It's still the same today. Malaysian men love the Thai girls... Don't we all? 😎

Down on the border with Malaysia, thousands come in. Hat Yai for shopping and Kalok for the hookers.  South Thailand is mostly Muslim , Malaysia Muslim.. And Thai hooker hit the border area to service the guys coming in. They come into Thailand to get their groove on then head back to Malaysia..  Kinda like a mini Pattaya..

Prostitution is restricted in Malaysia. Muslims convicted of prostitution may be punishable with public caning.

It used to be that way yes, I assume it still is. So they hop the border to get their oats. Okay, got it.

I think not many farang have stayed in them boarder areas, when they go to Sadao get their stamp and straight back out they should stick around for a few days and join in the fun, there used to be a place in Sadao it was either the Bangkok Pub or the Bangkok Bar, that place was rocking I've walked in there a few times "Farang Maa Lao"

Most of them don't go far from the border, about the furthest they'll go is HatYai, but the majority just visit the sleazy brothel towns a few kms inside Thailand.

Yes, it gets crazy down there. Was up and down the border there for a long time. Living there you get to see some pretty hairy stuff.

Yes, I always wanted to go skiing in Thailand, but an email to the TAT as for the best ski resorts went unanswered...

Did they tell you it has snowed in Thailand before?

I did it once en route to Penang and that was enough, I shan't be going back.

Change of subject , but I loved Penang. Best food I have ever eaten in my life.. I used drive down from Thailand and stay for a month at at time.

Apologies. I forgot that some people don't understand sarcasm. After all, they mentioned 'winter in Thailand'... I know there are three seasons in Thailand, but winter is not one of them.

`Winter is a season, not a temperature. We have winter in the north which, relative to the other seasons, is significantly colder, so much so that many people in the mountains die of hypothermia every year and ice is easily found above the frost line.

Yes, and although its some time ago, it has actually snowed in Thailand before. There is some evidence of this.
