Popular Post webfact Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 The beer market in Thailand has been invigorated by the introduction of a new player, Carabao-Red Sun, which aims to challenge renowned beer brands, Singha and Chang. The new entrant comes from the Carabao Group, led by Sathien Setthasit, and has already been launched across Thailand via Modern Trade stores. This new contender to the 2.6 hundred billion baht beer market is set to bring a fresh experience for beer lovers as the year ends. Carabao-Red Sun has introduced five beer flavours to the market. These include Lager Beer, a German-style beer made from 100% malt; Dunkel Beer, a German-style dark beer made from roasted malt; Weizen Beer, a genuine Bavarian-style beer with a fruity aroma; Rose Beer, a genuine Bavarian-style beer mixed with raspberry; and IPA Beer, an ale with the taste and aroma of hops. It will be interesting to see how much pressure the newcomer can put on market leaders Singha and Chang, having only been available for a few days through over 700 distributors nationwide. The beer is available in CJ More stores, standard discount stores, and retail outlets under the Carabao Group, Big C, and Lotus. According to retail and wholesale sources, Carabao will start delivering the new beer after yesterday. The retail price is expected to be slightly higher than its competitors. by Nattapong Westwood Photo courtesy of kaohoon international Full story: The Thaiger 2023-11-09 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Popular Post lordgrinz Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 Singha and Chang both taste horrible, I've come to the conclusion that Thai's drink to get drunk, not because they like the taste of beer. 15 2 2 7 4 4
Popular Post Pouatchee Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 its popularity will depend on mostly 1 thing... the price. thais dont have the finesse, nor the palate to distinguish and enjoy a good beer 9 2 6 8 1 4 1
Popular Post V8M8 Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 Not a great marketing stratergy, as they mention coming in at a higher price than the established breweries Some interesting sounding brews there which I will give a try when they arrive in our neck of the woods. And as they say "will be delivered after yesterday" so that should be soon lol. They won't have to taste too good to be better than Singha or Chang! 11 3

What do you mean with that? Some people drink beer for their food, or just 1 or 2 bottles just because they like the taste. Others drink just to get drunk. I assume you did not understand the post you were quoting. Same goes for wine, where even more people use it as a social drink or as an addition to good food. 7 2 2 1

Hey Watson, do you eat food to get fat? If you can't drink alcohol without getting drunk, you might wish to visit your local AA. 3 1 1 1 3 1 6

Popular Post LoudHailer Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 Chang is Carlsberg by a different name. Delicious. In their former joint venture, Carlsberg took the venture while the partner took the joint. Goodbye Carlsberg, hello Chang. 🥹 6 2 3
Popular Post bamnutsak Posted November 9, 2023 Popular Post Posted November 9, 2023 You've got to love how some seem to get around the ban on marketing beer on social media. While others, yea you, over there, the MovrForward MP, yea I'm talking about you, seem to be prosecuted. Odd justice system. 6 2 1

The recent (and current?) ads for Chang Cold Brew on BTS stations and on huge billboards a good example. They don't promote the beer, but the mugs you can drink it from as a 'club' member. 3

"All Thai's", BS, some of the Thai people you have met have this problem not all. Most I know realize the beer here is crap and actively promote opening up the beer market for better brews. Places like Chit Beer and Tawandang are packed each and every night with Thai's looking for a tasty cold one. 4 1 4

The Dunkel and the Weizen got my attention, but there are pretty good imports already here, though they are expensive (Franziskaner and Weihenstephaner). 1

They are good, and I even have the German glasses to drink them from. But they cost 3x as much so I don't buy them that often. Cheers Weizen is a pretty decent alternative. 1 1
