Popular Post webfact
THAI SANG THAI leader Sudarat Keyurapan has taken Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin to task over the Pheu Thai-led government’s populist digital wallet project. Sudarat tweeted on her X page to remark that the prime minister had earlier vowed to not borrow any loan to finance the 10,000-baht digital wallet project for as many as 50 million Thai nationals but he has completely failed to keep his word. “Despite the fact that the prime minister has earlier pledged to never borrow any loan only to hand it out. That kind of project funding will certainly pass a huge debt burden onto the people in the future. Anybody could just borrow money to hand it out to others and such a policy needs nobody’s administrative ability. “It is like a cut in the power rates and electric rail fares without restructuring anything,” Sudarat commented. In Thailand I learnt very quickly "words" are meaningless. 3

Popular Post Cake Monster
IMO, there is going to be an even bigger backlash from Investors, the Stock Market, and International Investors in general; To borrow all the money to fund the Digital Wallet is lunacy The Money should come from raising Taxes, but instead the rich are to receive a 50 K Tax break 1 1

Until Thai people actually stand up and demand justice, the government will continue to make promises that they know won't come to fruition. It's sad but true. And honestly what is a Thai person to do with 10,000 baht? Are you serious? Good people will pay towards debt or give to their children or grandchildren, bad people will drink free for 3 months. Dumbest idea ever. Want to help, address driving - top 5 in the world for traffic related deaths, alcohol abuse and government manipulation over the populace. Do something that actually benefits Thai people. This government doesn't care but we already knew that once they stole the election. 2 1 1
Sydebolle
The old goat again - she has been farting into politics of this country for too many decades already - some of these years she was even banned from politics for possibly sitting in the wrong party (and she changed political parties more often than some change their socks). Where on Earth should the government (irrespective of who is at the helm) get THB 560'000'000'000 - in words "five hundred sixty billion" from? The government only costs money and does not generate a single Baht and said amount is in addition to the present budgetary structure. In other words we are talking about 15+ billion (not million) US Dollars! The only way is to borrow such an amount. But no reasonable finance institute would grant Thailand such a loan hence it is only possible with somebody who is absolutely blind or stupid or both. How does Thailand want to return the money with interest and compound interest to the borrower? So it will be a government bank which they might send down the Mekong or Chao Phraya as the dress rehearsal of 25 years ago proved successful once already. That happening would nosedive the Thai Baht on the international monetary market, aggregate inflation further and possibly result in Thailand's financial collapse. The only reasonable thing to do is to crawl back and disappoint all those grannies and uncles who expect a financial windfall without contributing anything to it! Popular Post Thingamabob
I am beginning to think this may well be the worst Thai government I have seen after 40 years of living here. 2

Paying off debt is deflationary and Lao Khao brings too much joy. My guess is that it will be limited to staples and will expire after a certain date. Perhaps specific brands and only from specific stores. That's how I'd go about it if world domination was my plan. Other countries will watch this very closely so they can perfect the control mechanisms over their own populaces.
