Pattaya — In a bid to ensure the safety and security of tourists during the upcoming major festivals, law enforcement bodies in Pattaya intensified security patrols yesterday.

A massive patrol took place on the night of November 21st, primarily at Pattaya Beach, led by Pol. Col. Parinya Klinkeasorn, chief of Chonburi Immigration, along with over 100 other officers in attendance, including Pattaya police, tourist police, and volunteers, both Thai and English-speaking personnel.

According to Pol. Col. Parinya, the initiative’s goal was to strengthen the confidence of visitors to Pattaya ahead of the Pattaya International Fireworks Festival 2023, scheduled for this weekend, and the Loy Krathong Festival, set to take place later on November 27th.

Where are they for 38 weeks of the year?  They emerge for the 14 Dangerous Days to collect their overtime then hibernate.  Policing in Pattaya is scandalous.

Not a sign of any of the 100 officers as Pattaya traffic ground to a halt caused by logjams of selfish, dumb drivers here for the annual firework display.

Certainly. Bunch of clowns.

Why didn't they get out on the roads to ease traffic congestion and penalize all the Bangkok drivers who run down the wrong lanes then cut in to the correct traffic lanes just because they're too important to line up like everyone else?

I saw 6 cops stood together on Beach Rd between Sois 1 and 2. They shouted at a motorcyclist travelling the wrong way through crowds of revellers but not sure if that was the right time and place to go in pursuit of said driver.

I guess they were where they were because that is where they were ordered to be.
