Airports of Thailand to raise passenger service tax

BANGKOK: Airports of Thailand (AoT) will increase passenger service charges at six international airports including Phuket International Airport by B30 from April 1 next year to cover the operating costs of Common Use Passenger Processing Systems (Cupps).

from 1 April 2024

International from 700 to 730

Domestic from 100 to 130

Included in TS line item on tickets., when ticket is issued.

To cover costs or to cover their pockets... 😂

The international PST will increase by 4%, whereas historic inflation here was over 8% at one point. Even AOT has costs and bills that must be paid and they are not immune to inflation. I suppose they could have increased the landing charges, that would have filtered thru to ticket costs but what other options do they have for dealing with increased costs!
