Lottery enthusiasts in Nakhon Ratchasima are buzzing with anticipation as the Government Lottery Office is set to announce the draw on December 1. Hot numbers related to the provincial governor, Siam Sirimongkol, such as his age and vehicle registration number, are in high demand. The price per ticket has risen to 130 baht due to the increased interest.

Nakhon Ratchasima, also known as Korat, has been abuzz with lottery ticket buyers keenly searching for lucky numbers associated with Siam, the Governor of Nakhon Ratchasima. The popular numbers include the governor’s age and vehicle registration number, postal codes, and phone numbers. The high demand has driven the price of these tickets up to 130 baht each.

In addition to the Governor’s numbers, lottery enthusiasts are also eyeing numbers associated with Thao Suranaree, also known as Ya Mo, a local heroine who saved the city from an invading Laotian army in 1826. The numbers 517, 30 and 96, which correspond to her birth year, age at death, and the year she saved the city, are considered particularly lucky.

This is the cost of a ticket, not the prize money.

I thought that the previous government had stopped the practice of selling lottery tickets over their official price.

For a while, yes they did. Then the agents creep back in and start the cycle all over again once the brown envelopes have exchanged hands.

It's been going on for many years.
