Apparently there is nothing in the constitution to say that a convicted person can't become POTUS. I guess the Founding Fathers never envisaged how broken the US would become a couple hundred years later.

I'm not an expert on the US Constitution, but I've heard if you are convicted of TREASON, you can no longer hold any elected office. But, other than that, I, too, am not aware of any restriction on someone who has been convicted of a crime holding any office, including president.

I'm not disputing what you say, and they were murdering tyrants, but they were Communist ergo de facto left wing.

It's things like that which make labels like left or right wing a nonsense, and I disregard them as being meaningless.

Yes, I do agree that terms such as these are not interpreted the same by everyone. Here are my definitions of these terms:
- Capitalism, socialism, and communism are economic systems, not governmental systems. Many (most, including many online definitions), however, interpret communism as also being a governmental system.
- Capitalism is based on ownership of private property and competition.
- Socialism is based on no ownership but exclusive usages of certain property (like an apartment) and "from each, according to ability, and to each according to need."
- Communism is based on no private property. Everyone has the same rights to all property. All are treated equally.

"The main difference between left wing and right wing is that left wing is characterized by equalityfreedom, rights, progress, and reform, while right wing is characterized by duty, hierarchy, authority, order, tradition, and nationalism." - Online Oxford Language Dictionary. I agree with this definition.

The only one I support is socialism ( small s ) and I wish a plague on all the others.

I was going to expand on that but wrong forum for that, and off topic.

All I wish for a Christmas present in 2024 is a Biden defeat. I don't care who the winner is as they can't be as bad as he is IMO, unless they resurrect HRC.

I also like socialism (and why do you emphasize "socialism (small s)"? What is Socialism (large S)? I do think, however, that socialism is just a step towards the final goal, communism.

I hope if Biden and Trump are on the ballot, you do not get your Christmas wish in 2024. I don't think Biden's done a bad job, maybe not the best, but not bad. I do think another Trump presidency would push the US over the edge and into true chaos and violence, but maybe that's already the case.

Biden is nowhere near where he needs to get elected now. American voters are on to his act and responding accordingly at the polls as Biden sets records again for lowest job approval ratings. The inflation rates he created with *Bidenomics could be higher than his approval ratings soon.

* Biden on Bidenomics claims: “I don’t know what the hell that is,”

Americans won't vote for this total failed presidency and he will get crushed in 2024 by Trump as long as dead people don't vote and the election is fair. The MSM will be forced to cover the Biden impeachment inquiry and report on the findings for all voters to see the level of corruption uncovered to date. Good timing for Bidens toilet dwelling election campaign.

It would be grand to both biden and Trump pull out of the race. But, I'll settle for getting rid of biden.

thaibeachlovers replied: Me too.

I'd settle for no Trump, and if the Democrats could find someone to replace Biden, I'm okay with that.

Obviously Bidenomics is not only responsible for US's relatively low inflation rates but also the currently high inflation rates of most of the world.

Trump's toilet dwelling must be terribly boring nowadays without those boxes full of classified documents to read.

Total failed presidency!😅

- record GDP growth among G7 countries,

- unemployment rate close to historic low,

- all time high Dow Jones level,

- highest level of energy independence over 70 years,

- now lower inflation that the average of advanced economies.

- increased industrial sovereignty in strategic sectors such as semi-conductors, EV, or green energy.

A total failure! 😆

And he's even able to create more inflation abroad than in the US. 😅

I love the way folks with zero ties to the US are trying so hard to paint a rosy picture.

Insurance premiums and property taxes soaring. $6.00+/ gal for fuel, democratic run districts are overwhelmed by homelessness and crime. The border is a mess. This is what voters will be thinking about. Was your life better under Trump or biden?

Facts are not your friend....the average US gas price is $3.10.

What a coincidence! Life was better pre-covid in most countries! Could it be that there is something like global inflation and global energy prices? As countries are subject to the same global trends, the only way to assess performance is to compare between comparable countries.

Well, Let's compare the current inflation with 2019, the last 'normal' year under Trump before the pandemic started.. USA currently -0,5% compared to the average of advanced economies, + 0.4% In 2019.

Worse than a total failure, except for Bidenomics, but not here. LOL

But whats even more peculiar is that if Biden is so great with all his achievments why is it that his approval is the lowest in his tenure thus far and why his he getting crushed by Trump in all the swing states now? It's SO ODD that Biden could poll so low! What explains this and your confusion on this? Are you afraid to admit Biden is a failure and the voters all know this? And Trump is much better at running the country and it's economy, and the foreign policy and go down the list, of all the recent poll results and see how Biden's numbers are in the toilet where they belong. He's done and he's achieved but a freakin mess in the country and around the globe. Oh well, be sure not to vote for the vegetable again.

DO NOT forget immigration which is at the top of priorities for the voters. Whats your view on Biden's performance and worsening border catastrophe? Biden has FAILED in protecting the country with a secure southern border. You cannot spin this, NOBODY can.

I think you need a link for fuel claim. AFAIK, it's over $3 and I've never been to the US.

The DOW just hit a record high, unemployment is at historic lows, NFP is high and the dollar is strong.  When are you guys gonna give up the doom and gloom mantra?

Numbers are what they are. Poll number are currently showing an advantage for Trump in term of perceptions. I don't deny it . How it allows to anticipate on elections results is another story.

The numbers I mentioned (GDP growth, etc...) are facts. They are not based on perceptions.
