Retirement Visa

"Cambodia retirement visa eligibility

If you want to get a Cambodia visa for retirement, you need to satisfy the following conditions:

Your age must be 55 or older

You must prove you are retired (get a pension or social security documentation) and have sufficient financial funds (bank or retirement fund statements)

You must be unemployed"

Is there a way around the 'pension documentation'? (I'm still years away from receiving a retirement pension.)

If you are over 55 you need

A passport

A passport photo

About USD 280

Take them to an agent for example in Phnom Penh

Call Kim

Lucky

Marany

If you go to immigration yourself you will need to provide documents but save about USD100

You need to enter Cambodia on an E- class visa. You get 30 days. After about 3 weeks go to an agent.

They will organise everything.

Good idea to keep a photocopy of passport so you can move around to show at hotel check ins

USD280 is for a one year Extension of Stay which can be extended for ever.

There are also Extension of Stay for 3,6 and 9 months.

6,9,12 months are multiple entry.

It can take about 10 days to get the visa done. There is an express option for USD70. That'll be two days not counting the first and last day, so four days.

no 9 month extension n

6 & 12 are multiple entry
if ur NOT in PP it will cost ya $300 and take 10-12 days

Do not need to wait three weeks.

I just got mine in 24 hours through an agent, immediately after arriving in the city, and they added on to the retirement visa, the unexpired time from my entry E visa.

E visa at airport or online, don't get a T visa as you cannot get long term visa on a T visa

Even if you are in Phnom Penn it takes 10-12 days unless you pay the $70 for next day delivery, I've just done it.

Guys,

I just got a retirement visa from this guy on the riverfront in Phnom Penn.

I'll take your word for it, but agents say it can be between 10 days and 12 days, it was on his office wall.

I am not hanging around Phnom Penn paying hotels for anything between 5 days, as you say and 12 working days, when I can pay $70 and next day delivery.

I read somewhere that the Cambodian retirement visa can be renewed 1 time per year BUT only to a maximum of 10 years.  And then what?  Move to Laos? 🤔

Hi, several years ago, I have studied Cambodia's retirement visa(as the plan B, after Thailand).

Even though I am quite happy with my life in Thailand.

But just in case(Thai bureaucrats might attempt to kick out 1st world expats other  than superrich in the future).

What I have learned about Cambodia's retirement visa back then:

If over 55, no financial documents needed; only need to prove own age(with passport).

These papers are needed only when the applicants are under that age.

This is from the reliable source(travel agent that outfits visa status change application in Cambodia. From Ordinary Visa to Retirement in Cambodia. In Cambodia, the govt encourages foreigners to rely on travel agents for that service).

Is this information still valid?

Hi, I wonder if you are actually a retiree expat living in Cambodia?

Though I have lived in Thailand for 2 decades, I always have some plan B just in case.

I am glad to know that the information you listed still the same as I have learned years ago.

I used to live in godforsaken Thailand but find Cambodia to be more relaxed nowadays.

Its developed a lot the last 7 or so years so comfortable standard of living.

The Cambodian visa situation is a bonus. There is no need for a cambodiavisa.com website.

If you are interested, have a good look around at a few towns first before deciding where to live.

Good, comfortable vans now for travelling plus its a small country. Guesthouses everywhere.
