Newest Trend? Airport Living. Are Beijing or Florida Airports better?

Recommended Posts

It seems that airport living is becoming trendier.

But, might it be preferable to live in a Beijing airport or a Florida airport?

Personally, I think the Chinese airport dweller seems the happiest.

Would you consider living in an airport?

Why?

What might be the advantages and disadvantages to airport living?

Here ae just three examples, but, as I say, the Beijing Guy seems happiest and most at peace with his lifestyle....

When one is Chinese and one has the right attitude, living anywhere is just....better.

Worked at airports for about 16 years.  So last thing I'd want to do is live at one.   Besides, having a full kitchen is mandatory.

I'd rather live out of a RV, even if just a converted van.

But, you would not be able to park it at the airport without paying SKY HIGH monthly parking costs.

Wonderful. So now American airports will start to look like San Francisco.

Seems that way.

At least there are toilets in the airports, presumably.

Given the astronomical cost of food at any airport, I can only conclude GG is having a brain fart.

Besides which, any golf course close to an airport is about as interesting as a dentist's chair.

Who knows? Airports in California appear to be safer than homes. Here's something I didn't even know was an issue. https://www.nbcsandiego.com/news/local/chilean-national-burglary-ring-targeting-upscale-neighborhood-back-on-the-prowl-san-diego-police/3177010/

They even have their own acronym, SATGs (South American Theft Groups). https://youngkim.house.gov/2023/06/23/young-kim-works-stop-chilean-gang-home-invasions-protect-public-safety-orange/

Living in airports just might become a thing, a safe spot amid an ocean of theft, robbery, violence, and disorder.

Not getting the 'at the airport' thingy.  When I was a wee one, I used to ride my bike to the airport and watch the planes coming in & out.

Run amuck in the terminal, slide down the escalators, get chased by the guards.

No desire to hang out at airports any more, especially since they put them damn raised round disc in between the escalators.   Taking all the joy out of a good slide down.

If I could, would I do it again at 70 yrs old .... HELL YEA :cheesy:

Well, if airport squatting continues to climb, then toilets are a must.

Also, what about setting up soup kitchens so that you can get a free meal with your boarding card?

And, showers to minimize the stench of the situation?

But, Hanks is basically a happy person.

He would have been even happier if he could have scored with Catherine Zeta-Jones, 555
