I can highly recommend Dr Kirati Pungpapong at Bumrungrad. He performed two Toric corneal transplants for me. I don't think I could have received better treatment anywhere and I have lived in 8 countries (5 in Europe, 2 N. America, 1 Africa).
scubascuba3
In Pattaya Klang give this clinic a go, open evenings, Dr works in a hospital daytime. Usually these type of clinics are cheaper and quicker than a hospital https://maps.app.goo.gl/nPfSdHcUhw9PZxUv6

Thanks! Depends on what you need and how quickly - a retinal specialist, a corneal specialist etc. For a routine check up or for surgery? However if you are experiencing sudden onset visual defects, go to the nearest opthalmology department without delay today. 1

I was at the Banglamung public hospital to ask about cataract surgery .Their "queue " is 2 years. I am not making this up. They referred me to a hospital in Sri Racha.

I've been quoted around 50k at Bangkok Pattaya for one. Same at Jomtien. He's either talking about 10 years ago or making it up I'd suggest.

I never asked not did she volunteer a prescription, I didn’t see any signs of a computer or printer in the office.

Not sure how she can cope without a computer and printer at least in the background somewhere, also makes you wonder if she has modern equipment for her checks

Where was that, and did you have to stay overnight or was it done on an outpatient basis? It seems that government hospitals require you to spend a night in the hospital (in Vietnam 2 nights),while all private hospitals ,in Thailand and Vietnam, let you go home the same day. I am trying to find an exception.

I had 45 minute prep with eye drops to freeze my eye, the actual procedure took 15 minutes, I was allowed to leave after 15 minutes in the Recovery Romm, no more than a couple of hours at the hospital.

Around ฿90000 which included follow up appointments and medication, Dr Sante Bangkok Jomtien. It depends on the lense which is fitted, my left eye required a more expensive lense. You can have lenses where you won’t need reading specs, more expensive but I was advised they were not for me because of my glaucoma. PeterCouling
For the best replacement lens, I had both eyes operated on for cataracts at Banphaeo Hospital in Chan Rd Bangkok for 25k each eye. While a very busy Eye And Cataract surgery department that really needs Thai speaking or a Thai with you, it is very organised. First time patients must go in person for an appointment and to register. This compared to Rutnin quote at 17Ok, Pattaya International at 70k per eye and others at higher than my final choice. A one person clinic and you just que up and wait. She ultimately was able to diagnose a hole in the macula which requires surgery to repair. I was leaving in two weeks so waited until returning home and had that diagnosis confirmed by a specialist with surgery shortly thereafter. While her office and equipment seems basic compared to western clinics she was able to make the correct diagnosis which is a credit to her skills. As for the top Opthmologists the Rutnin Clinic in Bangkok is considered the top eye clinic in Thailand. I did go there with a friend about 10 years ago and they have a large clientel with many from Arab countries who come for eye care. Depending on the severity of your issue they would be worth a visit as well. 1
