Hacked LINE account, how to block access by another

Recommended Posts

My wonderful wife has managed to hack my LINE and seems to know details of my chats.  I have just changed my password and have blocked her using the app option.  Will this be enough?  I am not really experienced dealing with this sort of thing and do not know what to do to stop her.  YT has a post stating that there are leaks in the LINE app but these instances seem to be a bit complicated to access so may not apply to my (soon to be x) partner.

I do not have a huge list of contacts on LINE so a new account and notifying those on my LINE contacts could be ok if I don't inadvertently open the new door for my x.

Also, is there a way to know if a person has been blocked by a LINE user?  As in, will my x be able to see that she is blocked?  Can I determine if I have been blocked by another?  Any comments will be gratefully received with thanks.   🙏🏼

Thanks Nemises.  The person I am intent on leaving (when I figure out how and when) has, in the past, gone on a sex holiday with an Australian met on line and has, more recently, been looking for a 'New King' on a Thai dating site. Both forgiven in the mistaken effort for harmony and continuation of a life heavily invested in; emotionally and financially. I have got millions invested in my home and contents built on land that I paid for (500M B land only) and supposedly protected by an USUFRUCT contract.  She is a narcissist who is also lazy and (no disrespect intended-description only) is incurious and stupid.  Boring to the nth degree.

So, still looking for comments on how to protect my privacy please and thank you.🙏🏼

CharlieH:   Has a comment been moved or have you moved my post please?  Where was whatever it is moved to please?  What is the correct forum where I can look for post and/or comments please? Thank you.

Not sure stupid would be the right word. She managed to hack your Line Account. Even more got you to buy into her to the tune of 500,000,000 baht land only.  Devious or cunning might be better.

I do wish you luck.

Open Line , select home ,select settings (top right)select privacy, here you can set your account parameters.

Back to settings, select friends,

here you can block/ delete and prevent others from communicating.

Sorry to the OP, but the words Line and security arent often heard in the same sentance.

You should treat the app as a bit of fun that you can socialise on, and never treat it as a secure app.

Once many years ago, my wife recieved a Line call from her cousin who lives in a local village, but on answering the call it turned out to be the jilted ex of another one of her Line contacts trying to gleen info from her.

If a jilted lover can manipulate the app in this manner, imagine what scammers can do?

The best thing you can do is uninstall the app, change your number and reinstall it, and using the app settings to allow only visibility to your contacts.

Thanks northsouthdivide.  will blocking my partner from LINE remove her access to my account?  Could I just block, or something, all but the friends who I know for sure are ok?  There are many who tried to join me, or something, by phone number.  I have unticked that option but there are lots there.  Why do they do that?  Is simply blocking them enough?  I have had my current phone number for 8 or 9 years.  Must I change my number to secure my LINE account.  Little used but very useful when it is.

Thanks again for your helpful comment.🙏🏼

Depends how she got access - if you have changed the password then it should do.

Block them all and or delete them if you don't know them - why anybody would accepts random strangers is beyond me.

Go through all the settings carefully. Enable 2FA if you haven't already

Under Privacy - you could enable Filter messages which which rejects messages not send by friends - just make sure you have those contacts set up as Friends.

External app access - unless you need it for something make sure it is set to Never Allowed.

Under Friends I have Auto -add friends and Allow others to add me switched off - if I need to I can add people but stops random strangers or ad hoc contacts/businesses getting added when you don't want them.

Do all that then maybe change your password again as it seems unclear how your partner gained access.
