A SWISS man who is the second husband of a Thai woman who inherited 13 million baht from her first Swiss husband upon his death in 2021 and had yesterday confessed to strangling her to death was having an affair with another woman, Amarin TV quoted police as saying today (Jan. 30).

Ms. Orathai Posingam, 46, and the suspect who was only identified as Mr. Roland, 53, had moved to Chaliang subdistrict, Khon Buri district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, around two years ago with the suspect’s mistress also having rented a house in the same province.

Police had questioned Roland again yesterday about his wife who had been mysteriously missing since Jan. 8 after her sister, Ms. Thirarat, pointed out that if it were true as claimed by Roland that she had just run away on her own and would soon return on her own, why were her shoes and clothes still at their house.

Pol. Lt. Gen. Ittiphol Achariyapradit, acting police chief, said Roland had confessed that the two of them had quarrelled over her not wanting him to go to Pattaya to seen a friend because she was afraid he would be seeing his mistress and other women there and also over her addiction to gambling.

Witchcraft whispers: Swiss man ensnared in black magic murder mystery

by Petch Petpailin

Social media users accused a Swiss man of employing black magic as part of a plot to murder his Thai wife, following the discovery of a Jack of Hearts card in the dead woman’s mouth.

Identified only as Roland, the Swiss man eventually admitted to killing his wife, Orathai Phosingam, and disclosed that he had concealed her body in a cornfield in Nakhon Ratchasima province in Isaan after Orathai’s daughter pleaded for the truth.

Speculation about black magic arose when investigators found the playing card in Orathai’s mouth. The 46 year old Orathai had inherited a fortune of approximately 13 million baht from her former Swiss husband, who died away in 2020. Returning to Thailand two years ago with her new husband, Roland, aged 53, the couple resided in Nakhon Ratchasima province.

Orathai went missing on January 8 after a dispute with Roland, making him the main suspect in the case. However, the Swiss man denied the accusation and insisted on his innocence.

The search for Orathai continued for more than 20 days but officials found no clues leading to her. Roland stayed at home and refused to give an interview to the Thai media. He also did not try to search for his wife, unlike other family members, making him even more suspicious.

I am so grateful that they identified the two people in the headline picture - I was wondering which one was which.

Thank you so much for clearing that up.

If they didn't, a chorus of laughs would go up as if the cop were being identified as the suspect.

The story is getting more and more confusing... Thai woman married a Swiss man. Swiss man died and her inheritage is 13 million THB. She met a new Swiss man.. they are coming to Thailand. Swiss man likes to go to Pattaya, Thai wife doesn't want it because he will look to other women and/or has a mistress... Thai wife like to gambling, but Swiss husband murders her and put fo black magic a playcard in her throat..

I assume Swiss man is not stupid and will know that murder is being punished.. Why not flee the country after he did it?

Many titles policeman will get an upgrade because he solved the case, but are the facts as they announce reality? Is the Swiss man not a victim or a scapegoat?? Family of the Thai wife liked him, but maybe liked the money of the Thai wife more and they complotted to get her money and blame the Swiss man..
