Stocked fishing places

Featured Replies

I have a friend who is between Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat, for 2 weeks mid feb, he wants to have a couple of days easy fishing in some stocked place with food and drinks. Doesnt mind traveling, and recommendations?

There's a fishing section in this forum

Though I hear some of the venues have changed since Covid.

If you've got the bucks and can get over to Krabi, Gillhams is world class.  Never been there myself, but have talked to several avid guys I met fishing closer to Bangkok.  And they were favorable.  But I worry about a venue that doesn't post pricing... (I'm not even sure they're still open)  And they go well beyond a few days of soaking worms with a few beers.

Hopefully, someone will come along with some other venues in the area.  They are all over Thailand.  It all depends on how serious and what you want to fish for.

I dont actually like catching big fish. I like light tackle and an avon rod, ironically one of John Wilson's but its only capable of fish up to about 15lbs with 6lb line. So I tend to fish away from the specimen places. At £100 plus a day, its lighter on the wallet too. Just want to catch a few pla duc, have them cooked and eat fresh by the water.
